He has also represented the SA Senior Men's Box Team, Westminster College in the USA and most recently, the Australian Men's box team. We are glad your back on home soil and back in the Bomberdrome!

After a well deserved break, our volunteers are refreshed and back for the business end of the season. The club will re-open on Thursday & Saturday nights from this week.

SCHOOL HOLIDAY CLUB CLOSURE

Due to a fixture break over the next 2 weeks, the committee have agreed that the club will be closed until Thursday 25th July.
This will enable all our volunteers to freshen up and recommence full operations during the back end of the season. We hope everyone enjoys their school holiday break.
Some teams will be training during this time, so please keep updated with training times via coaches, managers & team pages.

The Australian Men’s Box team have announced that Brighton star, Hamish Mathwin, has been added to the team that will head to Utica in September 2024 for the 2024 World Lacrosse Men’s Box Lacrosse Championship.

Mathwin will replace the experienced Marty Hyde who was recent withdrawal. Mathwin has been a regular on the South Australian box circuit having also played for the South Australia at the 2024 National Box Championship. Mathwin also was also apart of the under-20 touring team that visited Canada in 2019.

“It’s never great to replace a fellow player though when one door closes another one opens”, said Mathwin, “I am incredibly proud and honoured to be able to represent my country in Utica with the chance to pull on the green and gold, a dream of mine since I was a kid.”

Australian Head Coach Adam Smith was happy to be able to add someone of Mathwin’s talent this close to the event, “we're thrilled to have Hamish Mathwin on the team”, said Smith, “this isn't Hamish’s first time playing abroad and he brings to the team an incredible box lacrosse IQ”.

Mathwin joins his sister, Hannah Mathwin, in Utica where Hannah is set to compete for the Australian Women’s Box team.

The 2024 World Lacrosse Box Championships are set to be held in Utica, New York from 20 to 29 September 2024 with the Men set to open their campaign against Puerto Rico on 20 September and the Women looking to kick off against Canada on 21 September.

On Saturday night we acknowledged the successful 2009 Premiership winning teams: The League Women, the League Men and B grade Men. 2009 was quite the night of celebrations as all three teams partied well into the night! It was great to see most of the players there (and wonderfully that most are still involved in the club!). Thanks for organising and MC’ing the night Pat Mangan.
