Do you have a little one or ones under 5? Looking for something to do on a Monday morning? Try Playgroup 😀

Playgroups provide a safe and nurturing environment where children can play and learn through interaction with other kids. This helps them develop social skills like sharing, taking turns, and negotiating. They are also exposed to new activities and ideas, which can boost their cognitive development and creativity. Playgroups can also help prepare children for preschool or kindergarten by familiarizing them with being in a group setting.

Playgroups offer caregivers a chance to connect with other parents or guardians facing similar challenges and experiences. They can share tips, advice, and build friendships.

Monday, during school terms from 10am until 11:30am. $2 per family.

No booking required, all welcome.

Participation conditions apply.

Loneliness is a shared human experience. Let’s talk about it🧡

This week is Loneliness Awareness Week. Loneliness is a critical issue and is recognised as a public health priority for many countries around the world. However, despite being highly prevalent, loneliness isn’t widely understood or spoken about in Australia.

Loneliness Awareness Week shines a spotlight on the shared experience of loneliness and calls on all Australians. To show your recognition and join the conversation, please share about the event on your social media platforms.

More information and social media toolkits can be found via the link 🔗 below.

We regret to inform you that our hub will be closed tonight due to multiple volunteers calling in sick. The winter weather has been particularly harsh, and we're feeling its effects. However, we are open this morning from 11AM to 4PM.

We are actively building up our volunteer community and would greatly appreciate more hands to help us avoid cancellations in the future. It breaks our hearts knowing that people are going without.

If you can volunteer, we are looking for people any day from Monday to Sunday, with various shifts available. Your support will make a significant difference.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

Are you or a loved one 50 years old or over and seeking new friends or something to do on a Thursday afternoon. The Hillcrest Over 50's Club is seeking new members. Please see flyer for details.

Clubs like this are a wonderful space to meet new people with shared interests and similar experiences, they provide a sense of belonging and combat feelings of loneliness and social isolation. They're a place to engage in activity that challenge the mind to maintain cognitive function and is also a great way to assist with managing stress and anxiety.

Overall, participating in club activities contribute significantly to the overall well-being and quality of life for older adults.

Please note, the club is not an NECH program, they meet in the centre and asked for some assistance with promotion. For more information please call John (number is on the flyer) direct or stop by on a Thursday afternoon and have a chat with the members.
