The Oxford Hotel calls last drinks with Childhood Cancer fundraiser before doors close this week In a heartfelt farewell filled with music, dance, and a spirit of giving, the renowned Oxford Hotel in North Adelaide is set to host a monumental three-day event this weekend, from 15th to 17th September.

"TONIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

With the sad closing of The Oxford Hotel for good next weekend, this is MY LAST Fab 70s, 80s with a dash of 50s and 60s night. So please if you can make it, it would mean a lot. I am looking for a new Saturday home, so stay tuned.

The loss of The Oxford is more than just a decent pub with good sound and a dance floor (a very rare thing in Adelaide), it is also the community that was built there. Staff and punters had a real Cheers Bar thing going, and my many years as a punter myself as well as a Dj there, I saw and revelled in both sides. While I won't miss having to pack away then unpack the turntables that were inextricably placed in the centre of the Dj booth instead of the outside, and thus me needing go-gadget arms to mix unless I move them, I will greatly miss the people and the vibe, which was always one of fun and laughter. I have made great friends there, and that will always stay with me. Thankfully most of us will all find other jobs, but still you never like to see the family broken up. Here's to hopefully new beginnings, and cheers to the old.

What to expect, well you know the drill. Mainly 70s and 80s pop and disco, with a bit of 50s and 60s to add spice and make it a bit different. All mixed live on physical media for non-stop dancing and no awkward pauses, and yes there is always lots of dancing."

So join him and us tonight as we say farewell to one of our iconic resident Djs on our second last Saturday of trade. And remember to join us on our final week next week too, with two of our other iconic resident Djs, Mark on Friday and Jaki J on Saturday.

Some of you may already have heard, and i'm afraid it's true, The Oxford Hotel is closing.

We know this is sad news (we all need a hug here too 🥺) but we aren't gonna go out with a whimper. We have an absolutely epic final weekend planned for everyone, hopefully going some way to saying goodbye, making memories to last when we are gone, and just to have a bit of a boogie (whilst giving something back in the process). SATURDAY 16TH SEPTEMBER - JAKI J presents Just Can't Get Enough 80's Party. CANCER CHARITY HAPPY HOUR FROM 9PM-10PM, PROCEEDS GOING TO CHILDHOOD CANCER ASSOCIATION. This will be our final full day of trading.

SUNDAY 17TH SEPTEMBER - THE FINAL FAREWELL AND LAST ORDERS
This will be a chance for staff and friends of The Oxford to reminisce about the good times and have one last crack at finishing the last of the vino (and a massive charitable push for a fantastic cause). We will be open from 12pm-6pm. ALL DRINKS WILL BE HALF PRICE, WITH EVERY CENT AND DOLLAR GOING TO THE CHILDHOOD CANCER ASSOCIATION.
