Someone asked an amazing question when Michael spoke at the Rotary Adelaide Club: "Is there going to be a move towards trousers that we can actually get onto our legs without too much effort?"
To answer this question, pleated trousers and wider cuts are making a comeback, bringing comfort and mobility back into style! Skinny suits and trousers are slowly falling out of fashion, and coming back is drape cuts and fuller fits!

The Secret to Looking Athletic 💪
You may have heard the term 'drape' used for suits, but let me explain the Drape Cut. Popularised by Frederick Scholte in the 1920s, this cut gives the chest a fuller, V-shaped silhouette. Even if you don't hit the gym regularly, the drape creates the illusion of a more athletic torso.
The key is using a structured fabric with some heft, like a Fresco high-twist merino wool. This allows the fabric to elegantly drape over the chest while nipping in at the waist. I'm showing you examples of how Drape Cut suits can flatter any body type.
With the right fabric and skilful tailoring, the Drape Cut is a game-changer for men wanting to look their confident, masculine best. It's a timeless style that never goes out of fashion!

Feast your eyes on the merino wool flannel fabric, gold rimmed buttons, and patch pockets that make this blazer truly special. But the details that really have me geeking out:

I had the distinguished honour of tailoring the dashing suit for Parmida & Charlie's resplendent wedding, where two cultures intertwined in a breath-taking display of colour and affection. Congratulations!
Before anyone gets prickly about me covering the Met Gala, please remember this event is supposed to showcase fashion at its most ostentatious and absurd. Often, the intention is to obfuscate meaning and break rules so that an outfit becomes a bit interpretive. Like it or hate it, it means something to someone, and every year the Met Gala nudges fashion in a new direction. This year's theme was Garden of Time.
Young Bazza has donned a Burberry velvet three-piece suit, which has a bit of a Mad Hatter vibe to it. Note, Barry is wearing 3 watches! I love the pocket watch for this outfit, but I suspect the Patek Philippe is the most expensive. The cut of the suit is exceptional for his frame. The wider lapels are extremely flattering and the length of his jacket it perfect, adding a bit of drama to the drape. Notice how low down the first button of the jacket is? This is critical to getting a great silhouette and allowing the lapels to contour over the chest, rather than buckling away. The ruffled shirt cuff and Mail Coach necktie are the "little bit of crazy" you can forgive at the Met Gala. But if he wore this to any other event, I'd probably say he's a toss bag who's trying too hard.
Hemsworth is wearing a three-piece Tom Ford bespoke suit. Nothing flash, replete with the signature shoulder dimple that has become synonymous with TF suits. (Note, this dimple isn't flattering on someone like Chris). The black boots are an afterthought. But I suspect that was the intention of this outfit. He's Australian and, like our British forefathers, we don't like making ourselves the centre of the universe.
Now, some may argue that this outfit deviates from the theme. Well, I beg to differ. This is a timeless outfit, placing it squarely on-theme in the Garden of time.
