Smashing burgers is a great way to make use of your Heatlie flat plate!

It's important to know that a stainless steel plate won't spread heat evenly across the plate. You'll notice concentrated heat spots directly over each burner and cooler spots in between. This is indicated by the darkening or discolouring of the plate in the high-heat areas.

The best way to use a stainless steel plate is to use it to your advantage. Cook food that requires high heat, like the below stir fry, over these hot spots, and utilise the surrounding areas for foods that might need less direct heat.

The Snappy King mild steel hotplate kit lets you convert your Snappy King from a roasting oven to a hot plate BBQ. As the second photo shows, you'll need to add the second burner in order to get direct heat under the plate.

With some slight tweaks to the design, our IGE 600 and 850 models are now certified for indoor use, with some conditions...

- Applicable only to Natural Gas and Fixed LPG (bayonet fitting) installations
- Must be installed and certified by an authorised gas fitter
- New clearance requirements for vertical surfaces surrounding the IGE (more info in link)
- Only applicable to newly built models from November 2023 onwards

We're also making some exciting cosmetic changes to the IGE such as...

- New hood hinge design - hood will not protrude past trim at the rear
- Newly designed hood handle
- Larger fat catcher
- Laser-engraved trim instructions and labels

Cheeky Nandos on the Heatlie? 🍗

Here's a super simple idea to spice up your summer nights on the BBQ.

- Grab some chicken thighs and drumsticks.
- Marinate them in some peri-peri sauce for several hours at least (Nandos make a petty good one).
- Char them nicely on high, turning regularly to get the flavours popping
- Add some blanched broccolini + corn cobs and butter-baste to perfection.
- If needed, give the chicken a few minutes in the oven (or Snapy King) to ensure cooked through.
