Wonky Lines Counselling is an Aboriginal owned and operated counselling service.
We assist Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, including other people from cultural backgrounds, in healing emotional wounds and empowering themselves. Wonky Lines Counselling believes in the value of Self-Determination and that positive intergenerational change is possible!
3 years ago I designed the logo for WLC. It is multi layered with deep meaning. The hills represent the power of all ancestors and the importance of generational knowledge being passed through the generations to ensure the youth are learning the lessons they need. This is important for all people from all cultures. The path running through the background and the place of rest (Circles) represents that things get hard, but if we rest and seek support from others we can and will continue our story. The Sand Goanna stands tall, strong and proud. Looking at challenges face on. But always grounded by its powerful claws. Knowing where it comes from and appreciating the beautiful things the earth has to offer. The prints of the Goanna are just as important as the Goanna itself. When we move across the earth and we meet people through our lives we inevitably leave imprints on those places and people. We must always remember where we come from and the lessons learnt to know where we are placing the next step forward. 🫶🏽🙌🏾🫶🏽
I was so honoured to be able to come and be part of a panel of strong Aboriginal women speaking about the importance of NAIDOC week but also the importance of following your passions, the power of education and entrepreneurship as just a couple of ways to Keeping the Fire Burning 🔥 Massive thank you to Henley High School staff and students for making me feel super welcomed and for engaging deeply in so many amazing conversations 🖤💛❤️💙💚🤍🖤
Reflecting on an incredible NAIDOC Week at Henley High School - Henley High School We celebrated NAIDOC Week with the 2024 theme 'Keep the Fire Burning, Blak Loud and Proud', and it was truly unforgettable.

I’m still not feeling well 3 weeks after having COVID. Please, if you need me be patient, be kind, and I will do everything I can to get back to everyone as soon as possible. I’m only a human and my capacity is limited at this time due to my health❤️
I had the most incredible two days with the Office of the Commissioner for Public Sector Employment (OCPSE) at the Aboriginal Workforce Forum. It was a truly memorable experience for me and more firsts!
Day one of the two day forum I ran 4 workshops on ‘Finding your voice and story telling with confidence’ where we yarned and laughed and screamed our way through the uncomfortable fake stories we tell ourselves about public speaking and story telling in public. Thank you to everyone who participated and trusted me to hold you in your unlearning and relearning in our workshops. Also another huge thanks for sharing your big heart energy with me as these were my first workshops in this setting ❤️
Day two provided me with the opportunity to deliver a keynote speech on the theme of ‘Changing the Narrative,’ emphasising that we all have the power to rewrite the stories we tell ourselves. I spoke about how, despite the challenges of intergenerational trauma, we can and will overcome it, one day at a time. I am hoping my story resonated with the audience, inspiring them to take control of their own narratives and create positive change in their lives and communities.
Being provided with the opportunity to share my story and Wonky Lines Counselling with the SA Public Sector Aboriginal Workforce is something I will be forever grateful for!
Here’s hoping for more forums and keynote presentations and more firsts! 🙏🏽
Worried about climate change? We should be! Our beautiful neighbours of Zenadh Kes (Torres Strait) are losing their island homes to rising sea levels 🌊 but we can help! Please sign the petition and or make a donation toward building urgently needed sea walls. I was so fortunate to meet some of the team working Our Islands, Our Home at the Common Threads Summit and no one deserves to have their home washed away if we can help it! 💚💙🖤
Want to support young Aboriginal people in sport? I met Bernard Jnr in Cairns who is looking for support to be at the U15’s Rugby League State Championships in the Gold Coast this may. PAY ID 0401934060 Bernard Sabadi Any contribution is greatly appreciated ❤️🙏🏽❤️
Please be patient with me this week as I am recovering from COVID. I will do my best to follow up on all emails and phone calls. Please if the matter is urgent let me know and I will prioritise your enquiry ❤️
