Thank you to Flinders University for having us at their 'Work While You Study' workshop and Careers Festival.

Vikki Mather, our Business Development Manager, had the wonderful opportunity to speak to over 80 students currently pursuing degrees in Allied Health, Early Learning, Disability Support, and Nursing. She shared insights into the important work being done in the social assistance field and the crucial role it plays in creating a more inclusive world for all.

At the same time, Louise Bruten, our Recruitment Officer, thoroughly enjoyed connecting with everyone and answering questions about employment and the exciting opportunities available at Hessel Group.

The weekend of Source Kids Disability Expo was truly unforgettable!

A highlight of the event was the fun jamming sessions led by our talented Music Therapist, Jarran, for all the children in attendance. The Source Kids Disability Expo made its way to Adelaide last month, marking the beginning of their national tour that is set to spread excitement across the country.

This being their second appearance in Adelaide, Hessel Group was thrilled to set up a stand, providing us with the opportunity to connect with everyone, listen to their unique stories and showcase our business's diverse capabilities.

The first stop of the 2024 expo kicked off at the Adelaide Convention Centre on March 2-3.

With a staggering turnout of over 2,300 attendees, it was an incredible show!

As proud sponsors of this wonderful event, dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of children facing physical or neurodiverse challenges, as well as supporting their families and caregivers, our team had an absolute blast – we even came close to running out of face paint!

It's not often that we have the opportunity to meet our Support Workers in the field. So, it was a real pleasure to catch up with Keith, who has been a valued member of the Hessel Group team for over five years.

In 2019, Keith decided to make a significant career change after spending three decades as a Mechanic and Maintenance worker at the former Holden factory. With his personal connection to the Disability sector through his daughter, Keith discovered a newfound interest and began exploring the professional opportunities available in this industry.

For Keith, it wasn't just about expanding his knowledge of the different services available to his family. It was also about embracing a new lifestyle and the chance to contribute to and support individuals through his work in care. These aspects have made his career in care truly fulfilling and rewarding.

A big thanks to our Behaviour Support Manager, Fatema, for bringing the team together to celebrate Fairy Day Bread Day and sharing her incredible insights on how we can sprinkle hope in the lives of kids in foster care.

For 2023, Fairy Bread Day and Dollar Sweets have joined forces with the Pyjama Foundation to raise funds for the Love of Learning Program. This incredible program empowers children and young people in care by providing them with guidance and support from trained volunteer mentors.

We raised $200, thanks to the generous contributions from the Hessel Group and Enhance Training Team.
