Bladder weld failure. Mfg 2020. Self testing will not pick this up.

This hasn't been tested for 9 years. The mechanism was loose because the manufacturer hadn't put the top and bottom seal on. If this had to be operated the co2 gas would have leaked and the jacket would not have inflated. A self -test by the public will not find this.

when you servicing lot of inflatable pfd's you can find lots of faults.

07/12/2021

For all the people who are doing their self testing of their inflatable pfd's and other people's pfd's. Do the testing and fill the paperwork out. Don't just sign the paperwork and hope everything will be ok. You are morally and legally responsible.

Very small hole. You will not find this with self servicing.

You never know what condition of the inside of your lifejacket is like unless you have a good look and test it.

Manufactured in 2011 and has never been tested before. This fault was there since new. Failed to hold pressure.

This is absolutely blood stupid. using some sort of sealant to hold the clip in place. Just bloody laughable.
