WHEN GREAT TREES FALL
by Maya Angelou
When great trees fall,
rocks on distant hills shudder,
lions hunker down
in tall grasses,
and even elephants
lumber after safety.
When great trees fall
in forests,
small things recoil into silence,
their senses
eroded beyond fear.
When great souls die,
the air around us becomes
light, rare, sterile.
We breathe, briefly.
Our eyes, briefly,
see with
a hurtful clarity.
Our memory, suddenly sharpened,
examines,
gnaws on kind words
unsaid,
promised walks
never taken.
Great souls die and
our reality, bound to
them, takes leave of us.
Our souls,
dependent upon their
nurture,
now shrink, wizened.
Our minds, formed
and informed by their
radiance,fall away.
We are not so much maddened
as reduced to the unutterable ignoranceof
dark, cold
caves.
And when great souls die,
after a period peace blooms,
slowly and always
irregularly. Spaces fill
with a kind of
soothing electric vibration.
Our senses, restored, never
to be the same, whisper to us.
They existed. They existed.
We can be. Be and be
better. For they existed.

Shakti is the divine feminine and consort of the divine masculine god Shiva.
When Shakti asked Shiva, who am I? The answer lies in the quiet space between your inhale breath and your exhale breath.
This is a very important concept for yoga and Ayurveda, as the feminine side is nurturing and that quiet space inbetween your breath is the perfect environment for healing. Ayurveda principles outline the importance of looking at symptoms as an opportunity to be curious.🙏
Yoga Way peace garden looking so lovely after all the rain we have had lately
Some days you might feel like a diamond other days however, you might feel like a heavy stone. On those heavy days use a little sound vibrational therapy. Play some familiar music to help build your personal resilience tool kit.
Sound is a vibration that travels through air, water and solids therefore through the human body
Sound has the capacity to shift neurobiology in a profound and unprecedented way to unleash human potential
The benefits of shifting neurobiology is to communicate with the nervous system and shift away from symptoms related to sympathetic nervous system to a more restful state

Beautiful sound bath
No matter what noble intentions we have, we are not guaranteed any promises. We are however invited to take a deeper look inside ourself.

See you back on the mat next week
During our Summer, Yoga Way studio is shifting its focus to a quieter and cooler practice on the mat, with an emphasis on cultivating the right conditions to communicate with our nervous system.
The technique of learning to communicate within is widely known: as meditation and the benefits can help diminish the symptoms of many health conditions including inflammation, anxiety, and insomnia.
Come to the Studio and join us on the mat with yoga moves followed by a deeper and quieter connection to our own wisdom
I am deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Swami Sarasvati. Swami Sarasvati was a pioneer in sharing and bringing the wisdom of Yoga to Australia.
The IYTA has ran many joyous events at Swami's Yoga Retreat over the years, it is a venue that is much loved by all who visit. This is a credit to the vision of Swami Sarasvati, a true Yogi indeed.
Swami was my personal guru and I trained with her to get my diploma of yoga and as a guru she elevated me into Australia yoga masters. Yes we all have to let go eventually
Namaste 🙏
There is a farewelling Hindu ceremony for Swami at Castlebrook Memorial Park, Rouse Hill at 10am on Saturday 1 April. All are welcome to attend.
It’s the loveliest feeling when you design a simple yoga routine for the ROLE Foundation in Bali . A foundation to support marginalised woman by building confidence with cultural understanding and respect 🙏
Drop in classes will remain at $18 per class . However, as of April 2023 the 5 class pre paid class will be $75
This is only the second price change ever, and it is due to rising cost of yoga registration and my yoga teachers professional insurance.
Singing bowls
Yoga and meditation practices have always had a relationship to sound, most historically in the form of mantra or chanting. As the vibration from which all form arises, sound can be an effective instrument in healing and calming the mind.
Regardless of the underlying mechanisms of how it all works, there’s no doubt that for those who perceive singing bowl sounds as relaxing, spending time in stillness listening to the bowls is a joyful activity with the power to bring us to a deep state of relaxation. This alone makes a sound bath worthy of our time.
