Been a while since an update, this is one of the combos we tuned recently with a victor Jr manifold full exhaust system along with some other goodies. Due to the manifold choice it leaves a little to desire down low but the 3.7 diff ratio helps that along, above 4,500rpm the big land yacht really gets moving with an excellent intake sound to accompany 👌
Future plans for the stato will prove a really nice street combo with an aggressive presence
Family day out at HPR, would have been nice to crack off a 12.x but a 13.0 @ 101mph was nice in full street trim, drove there and home 👌
Been a minute since the last build post, just a couple cammed LS1's coming together.
One going on the pad with a mild cam retarted 2°, some 862 heads for a bump in compression and backed by a TH350 with 4,800 stall!!! 👆👉👆👉👆👉
Second is a forged combo with +3cc dome pistons and longer rods for all the compression to account for the wrong turbo cam 🤌

#1 Is a cheap ebay ARP knock off stud
#2 Is from another shop that I don't 100% know the circumstances of the TTY bolt snapping but a good chance it was an old one being reused
I bought both of these blocks cheap for my own collection and adventures (watch this space for a new project coming soon 😉)
If I can ever teach anyone anything at all when building a motor, for your own sake use quality head bolts or studs. For the sake of the extra 2-300 it's still worth it to go the extra couple weeks saving to get quality parts.
These two took alot of swearing, heating, drilling, shocking and anything else that would fit 4-6" down an 11mm hole without going into the coolent passage. In the end it cost over $140 in good LH drill bits plus some RH bits to get it centred etc, then over 2-3hrs a piece to get them to catch and back out. The next step is loading the motors into and taking them to be time serted which is also over $200. All up including labour for 2 holes it would have been over $5-600, that's more then a set of ARP studs!!

Trying to bash, cut or 3 claw pull it off will damage your charger and make the job harder so don't risk it. A cheap 30min job can't turn into an expensive nightmare if done wrong 😉

LS lifter tick... it's not just a noise! As the lifter wears down on the cam and chews itself up, its spreading metal all through your motor. For the sake of $650 fitted with genuine LS7 lifters, buckets, MLS gaskets and bolts it saves a hole motor swap or potential rebuild 😉

LS motors have proved time and time again they will go the distance. Whether it be daily duties, smashing sets for days or track work, with the right maintenance an LS will go the distance and give you a smile at the same time!!
Do you have a cam but it doesn't sound as aggressive as you would like? We can fix that, this car usually idles reasonably sedately but with a couple small tweaks we can make a 114+2LSA cam sound more like a 111-112LSA cam!

Tried to get to Heathcote drags today but after 1am Saturday morning, we threw the towel in and called it off. The car is still on the hoist for what I hoped was a couple hour fix and ended up changing to much of the setup to suit but all in all suprised a 28"x9"x15" actually fit under it and a few things checked off that have been waiting too long to be done. Should get another opportunity mid January 🤙
Had a grouse day yesterday, first time I have been out and just chilled for a while! Thanks to the boys for a grouse night and thanks to tore and .jp i finally have some killer pics of along with a couple funny ones from the day 🤣
went all the way to 11psi with about 3.5psi left on the table before I need a 3BAR MAP, still on pump 98 with rich AFR's.
The sound on gate at 10+psi is just music compared to 7psi 🤣 then i got exited and things happened....
I was avoiding heat wrap but after cooking the alternator, some titanium wrap and a new turbo beanie is on the way. Should be happy days soon, plan is to get 3bar map in it and then off to the dyno for a killer E85 tune 💪
got a really good base tune sorted yesterday. I Started at base pressure 7 psi, Up to 10.5psi (eboost duty at 30) with afr's under 11 the hole way, no more then 11°advance and cold start is mint. Hot start I will make better, shat the alternator due to heat, so wrapping all the pipes and shield over the alternator will be done this week. Should be dyno ready in a week or so 👌
made 8psi real quick on the trans brake and over-boost shut it down before 2-step 😍 Fossil fuel is dead, time for some corn juice 💪💪💪

Jamie is another tune we did in wallan, stock with bolt ons and a 3k stall. After a few tweaks it was searching for traction through 2nd and 1st was a tail fest off the line... even on the 245 20's. Made for a peppy combo considering the cars size and weight 👌
