We are pleased to say that our Car Park has finally been reopened for our families to access. We appreciate your patience for all of this time. There are 2 disabled spaces available in the car park for use by those with stickers.

To our Start Strong families our playgroup will be on tomorrow (Thursday 20 June) at BECIS from 9:30-11am. We hope to see you then! Therese and Michaela 🙂

Another busy morning at Playconnect+. We enjoyed some heavy work with our big rugby crash bag, rolling and pushing and climbing on top of them. Our movement cards were lots of fun with the children following directions such as doing a crab walk, jumping or hopping. We explored some fine motor work with cogs and wheels and also some crayon drawing on the floor easels looking at our reflections in the mirror. Our story today was not my Teddy and we had fun with our own Teddy Bear doing some dancing.

BECIS has been notified this morning of a high-voltage power outage on the CSU campus where our building is situated. We have been asked not to attend the campus until this is resolved
As a result of no power or heating we are not opening our BECIS office or programs today. We apologise for any inconvenience. If you have any concerns about appointments please contact your key worker directly.

This week at BECIS as part of our "BECIS Bites: Professional Development sessions, our Early Interventionists Jo and Lucinda presented a fun filled and informative session on “Heavy Work”.
Participants pushed and pulled their way through some very practical ideas, further putting them into practice in our gross motor room.
Our "BECIS Bites" sessions of professional development, provide targeted, best practice and realistic ideas for sector professionals to implement in their services.

A gentle reminder for our BECIS family and friends. If you or you child is unwell in any way, we ask that you do not attend our service. Bathurst and its surrounds have seen very high numbers of respiratory illnesses and tummy bugs resulting in absences from both staff and children. Where possible appointments can be rescheduled if they need to be cancelled. Thank you for your cooperation and help to keep us all healthy.

Please be advised that the BECIS office will be closed on Monday the 10th of June for the long weekend. We will re-open on Tuesday the 11th of June at 8.30 am.

We had lots of fun at Playconnect+ today, especially with our tub of fruit loops. Pouring, mixing, tipping, stirring and eating. Mess is good and the fruit loops made great sounds under our feet when they were crushed. We had some roads and train tracks appear on a table and we enjoyed pushing all the vehicles around and "reading" the road signs. We read Old McDonald for our story and each of us had a felt animal that matched the page. Of course group would not be the same without a sing and play long session on our xylophones.. Playconnect+ will take a break next week for the long weekend and return on the 17th of June.

Join us for MyTime tomorrow at 10.00am

We welcomed a new friend to Playconnect+ today and she had lots of fun, particularly in the sensory tub full of fruitloops and rice. We poured from cups, scooped with spoons, tipped and stirred using so many skills. Once again our birthday party in home corner proved popular with presents unwrapped and working on our blowing skills with the candles. Today we read a story called "That's not My Tractor" which had lots of touch and feel pages. We did finally find our tractor and drove it around the table.

BECIS is lucky enough to be situated on land rich in Australian flora and fauna and staff, families and children all take delight in our visitors around the building including kangaroos and these delightful feathered friends enjoying a somewhat chilly afternoon dip

We had another fun morning at Playconnect+ today. There was lots of pushing and pulling and using our muscles for lifting and rolling blocks that were in our way. We got messy with some cooking, experimenting with texture and taste as we stirred and cracked eggs and poured in our mixture. Our cakes were really delicious when they were cooked. These were birthday cupcakes to continue on with our party celebrations in home corner. We all enjoyed the Incy Wincy Spider story today and took turns being the rain and the sunshine before we used our xylophones to sing the song.

Today is the last day in the BECIS office for our Speech Pathologist Lauren. She is very excitedly beginning her maternity leave.
We wish Lauren and Liam all the very best and can’t wait to hear of the new arrival
