Inaugural International Day of Play - (IDOP)
Following on from circle chat time last week about this very special day ,Children planned and initiated all activities this week , these activities included Kite making , making a big butterfly , playing tag , singing Sleeping Bunnies and having a picnic lunch , just to name a few

Playing musical instruments, provide children with an opportunity to develop their hand and eye coordination and fine motor skills.
Learning about Gourd shakers and making our own shakers was an extension of our Conductor and orchestra research
The shape of the xylophone is great for exploring simple maths
We used the xylophone to practice comparing sizes by sorting the bars of paper from smallest to biggest
Its time to tidy up our garden and get it ready for planting our new Winter seedlings
We planted Cabbage , Silver beet and Cos Lettuce
Gardening is a wonderful way for children to connect with nature and nurture living things. It provides multiple learning opportunities when studying , (seedlings)seeds flowers and plants

Peppercorn Group have been attending our chosen Parklands for the past 2 weeks
Wattle group commenced this week
Nature Play is child-led and unstructured, it includes interactions with natural elements such as trees, rocks, plants, dirt and water
Nature play activities are imaginative, sensory-rich ,collaborative and so much fun !
Nature Play
Exploring the environment can be a great way to teach children about the changing of seasons and provides children with an opportunity to make colour , shape and size observations
Nature Play discussions also helps with language development and is loads of fun !

One of the most important concepts we can introduce to children is road safety.
Road safety awareness can help to reduce the risk of injury among young children
We can assist them to develop skills, knowledge and behaviour about safety near roads .
