I haven't been on here for a while. Life got a bit busy with one thing and another but hopefully we will have some lovely foals on the ground this coming season. I am hoping for a reasonably drama free foaling season after last year. Losing one of my best mares due to foaling complications was devastating and very upsetting and there are times when I wonder why I keep breeding ponies.
I think to breed ponies you need the patience of a saint. Nerves of steel and a hide as thick as a rhino.
If anyone is interested I will be selling all (well maybe all) the foals we breed this coming season 2022. All foals will be dual reg with the APSB (Shetland) and AMPS.

GULLY LODGE BLACK BETTY. These are just a few photos of some Betty's wins. Very proud to have bred this little filly.

GULLY LODGE BLACK BETTY. Sire Glenelen Dynamo/ Dam Talaheni Bouquet.
Hard to put into word how much this little filly/mare won in her short show career.
She won so many Supremes and Champions as a yearling and a 2 year old. She won her Foal Futiurity (filly under 8.2 HH) and then went on to win the overall futurity against the big ponies. Also winning Hi Points and Overall High Points with the Shetland Enthusiasts of Victoria.
The pity was that Betty never wanted to be a show pony and she made that know by doing her customary buck in just about every workout she did and did her best to look sour at any chance she got.
Most judges forgave her her luckily.
She has since been retired to the broodmare paddock as we showed her sister Black Velvet and now have started to show her son, Bobby Dazzler.

I have put together some photos of some of Betty's win. Please note the photos were taken by us and some do not do Betty justice.

Gully Lodge Kingston. (dec).

Kingston was a beautiful gelding who was such a character. Drove us mad sometimes but we loved him. He hated his head being washed and even though he didn't mind you washing the rest of him when you got to his head he spat it.
He won many Supreme Champions and Champions in both the mini pony and small Shetland classes.
One of our friends needed a companion for her big horse who was stressing without a friend so we loaned Kingston to them.
He was with them for probably 12 months before we got the phone call we all dread. Kingston was at the Equine Hospital with colic.
He was there for several days and despite the best effort of the vets at the Equine Hospital, he passed away.
Our friend was devastated as she loved him and was willing to spend any amount of money to try and save him but it was not to be. These things happen when you own livestock and you can't save every pony even if you want to. I certainly do not blame my friend and was grateful that she went to such expense to try and save him.
We will always remember him. The last 2 photos are of Kingston as a foal.


But he was a character and Brianna loved him.

This is what our stud brand looks like. We fire brand our ponies so that they can be easily recognized.

As a breeder we try to sell our ponies to long term homes but people's circumstances can change and the ponies can find themselves on the market.

This is Gully Lodge Natasha.
A black dual reg mare I bred a number of years ago. Natasha is very Shetland and could be described as a tank. Lovely bone and movement and a beautiful nature like her mum and full sister have.
She was a successful show pony as a weanling and a yearling winning Champions in the Shetland and Miniature pony rings and even winning the Champion Open Foal at an APSB show against all the other APSB breeds.
She is the dam of our multi Supreme Champion gelding Gully Lodge Night Rider (who is so much like him mum. Also a tank)

Finally got to hang up the beautiful wall hanging my daughter gave me for Mother's Day. I love it, thanks Poss # # #

Gully Lodge Bobby Dazzler.
This c**t is out of GL Black Betty, who was a very successful show pony. He is rising 2 years old and is very small. I am hoping that he makes it to 80 cm or so (8 HH).

He has been to 2 shows and was very successful. Winning 1st in all his classes in Shetland and Miniature rings and with different judges. He won 4 or 5 Champions, 1 Supreme Champion and 1 Best Yearling Exhibit.
He is a very 'pretty' c**t and has a good temperament. We hope to show him this coming season.

I see that the beautiful Dee Bee Back in Black was sold today. What a beautiful boy he is.
He is by my stallion Shanusti Dane's Honour out of one of my mares Grevardi Yasmin.
