Tonight we were thankful to accept a grant from Empowering Eaglehawk which will fund two neonatal resuscitation trolleys within our theatre and birthing suites.
With over 1800 babies born at Bendigo Health each year, these new pieces of equipment will provide the latest technology, also reducing risk of staff injury between rooms and wards.
Congratulations to Empowering Eaglehawk on a successful AGM and for all the amazing work you do within our community. What a room filled with of characters!
🌟 A Heartwarming Gesture 🌟
Anita, Meryl, and Marg from United Threads Quilting Group paid a special visit to our Special Care Nursery and Parent Infant Unit. They took precise measurements to create beautiful, handcrafted quilts for the cribs and cots in our units.
These lovingly made quilts will bring extra warmth, comfort, and care to our tiniest patients and their families. We're incredibly grateful for the dedication and kindness of these wonderful ladies. Thank you, United Threads Quilting Group, for your amazing work! 💖🧵
Wow we have so many people of all ages and skills that care about our local community 💕
Thank you Lily for making a contribution from your beautiful paintings towards helping us treat patients closer to home at Bendigo Health 👏
The Gibson Street residential aged care facility provides a home-like environment for residents who can no longer be cared for in their own home.
When the facility needed an upgrade of residents beds, our team was proud to work with our funding partners to secure funds to ensure 41 news beds could be purchased.
Staff say the beds are much easier to control and have greater capability and residents, like gorgeous Betty who is featured in this video, are thankful to have larger king-single sized beds available.
We acknowledge and thank The Frances and Harold Abbott Foundation, The Angior Family Foundation and the Bendigo Health Foundation Charitable Trustees for their contributions.

Bendigo Health’s wonderful volunteer auxiliaries have a combined total of more than 130 years of service.
This week the Bendigo Palliative Care Auxiliary members were welcomed to a thank you afternoon tea with the Palliative Care unit staff.
Thank you for all you do to support the hospice at Bendigo Health by purchasing essential items for palliative patients’ comfort and care.
Have your say and complete the three question survey about the introduction of flexible visiting hours at Bendigo Hospital.
We are planning to introduce flexible visiting hours at Bendigo Hospital.
The Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care tells us that flexible visiting (removing visiting hours) and the increased presence and participation of a support person, improves the safety and quality of care for patients.
Flexible visiting can make patients feel safe and increase their satisfaction. They can also promote communication and allow family members to learn about the patient’s condition.
Bendigo Health would like to hear from you on what we need to think about in ensuring that you feel safe and supported with flexible visiting hours.
Please take five minutes to complete our survey of three questions.

Damian, Bell and the team from Bendigo’s APCO Service Stations were on board this week to donate fuel vouchers which support patients to access appointments at Bendigo Health.
We know for some patients and particularly those who need regular treatment that access can often be a barrier and this kind gesture supported by the APCO Foundation make a genuine difference.
