When the going gets tough, our tough get going.
We’re so proud of our members and their last big crack at HYROX race simulation before the taper begins.
It’s not about being the fittest or the strongest.
It’s about taking a leap of faith into the unknown, trying something new, finding out what you are truly made of and just have some bloody fun!!!

With the 8WC underway, we’re super proud of everybody and the efforts that were laid down on day one.
Remember, this is a marathon, not a sprint.
Make sure you tick off your daily habits checklist in the BFT app as this will put you in the best position possible for some spectacular results!!

The final two weeks of our block have well and truly kicked off and this is where it’s your time to shine in Peak Week.
During this two week window we’re pulling back the intensity slightly in order to hit some new personal bests in testing week (think pulling back an arrow before you release it 🎯)
You might start to see and feel a slight decrease in the volume of the lifts in Week 8, but we’ll maintain intensity. This is important as we don’t want you to go into testing in Week 9 not having the chance to test the waters under less fatigue. This is your week to do so!

Friday evening sessions are making a comeback and lunch sessions are on pause. We are so excited to support you Friday evenings!
The new timetable begins Monday, May 27th
Tomorrow’s STRENGTH LB session is all about TEMPO.
We don’t want you lifting a true 5RM in this session as we slow things down and refine the technical aspects of your lifts, especially the deadlift.
So leave the ego at the door and wait for those maximal load days in the PEAK phase part of our block which is coming soon.

After an extremely successful deadlift testing day yesterday, tomorrow we’re set to find out what your bench press is made of.
Key cues to execute this incredible lift are;
- 5 points of contact at ALL times throughout (both feet, glutes/lower back, shoulders and head)
- barbell at eye level when lying flat on bench
- hands positioned just outside of shoulder width
- the shoulder blades back by gripping the barbell hard and externally rotating the shoulders to create a proud chest
- feet under your knees and slightly turned out
- create immense tension from the feet and throughout your body
- take a deep breath, lift the bar off the rack and bring it over your sternum
- hold your brace as you lower the bar, keeping your arms at a 45 degree angle to your rib cage
- the bar must make contact with your chest and not bounce straight off
- maintain tension through legs, core and lats as you push the bar away from you.

The Benchmark is well and truly under way and this week is all about getting familiar with the key lifts in our block, the barbell deadlift and bench press.
This is your opportunity to move at slower pace with lighter loads in order to the lay the fundamentals down correctly.
Learning and implementing the right technique from your coaches this week will make it easier to build on some load a little more comfortably in the coming progressions.
