There is NO minimum income requirement for the Permanent Residence (Skilled Regional) visa (subclass 191)! You must provide notices of assessment issued by the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) for three income years out of the five years of their eligible visa.

Last year the Australian Government announced it would suspend the requirement for a Skills Assessment for Temporary Graduate (Subclass 485) visas. The suspension came into effect on July 1, 2022 and was for a year.

The Government restored the requirement from this July 1 and we will resume conducting assessments of qualifications for the Temporary Graduate (Subclass 485) visa from that date.

South Australia’s Skilled Nominated (Subclass 190) visa allocations have been exhausted for 2022-23. However, the General Skilled Migration program will remain open until 8 June 2023. This means that pending an allocation of Subclass 190 nominations from the Commonwealth Government for the 2023-2024 program year, applicants who are assessed as eligible for a Subclass 190 nomination will receive this nomination in the upcoming program year.

IELTS One Skill Retake (OSR)

From 14 December 2022, IELTS One Skill Retake (OSR) will be available for certain test takers. OSR allows test takers to retake one of the four test components in either reading, writing, speaking or listening (once only).

For Australian visa purposes, the Department will accept IELTS test results that include OSR, with the exception of applications for subclasses 476, 482, and 485, which need scores from a single sitting/attempt.

Working Holiday Maker (WHM) - 6-month work limitation relaxation extended

On 19 January 2022, the 6-month work limitation was temporarily relaxed. The relaxation of this condition was initially in effect until 31 December 2022, and it has now been extended until 30 June 2023.

It is advised that the eligible Student and Working Holiday/Work and Holiday visa holders seeking a refund under Student and Working Holiday VAC Refund Scheme, must lodge their request through Student and WHM refunds portal and not through their ImmiAccount.

Fully vaccinated Students and Working Holiday Makers who travelled to Australia during a specified period are eligible for a refund of the visa application charge. The eligible candidates can make a claim any time up to 31 December 2022.
