Savoury but not so sweet..cream and sesame with chives. Second attempt but I'm not convinced. Yaki imo also different variety, not so yellow..
So a friend said sour cream with chives on sweet potato is amaaaazzziing!!.... so what do you think? This is sour cream,chives and black sesame on different purple skin variety of kumera / yaki imo...

Goguma, aka Korean Sweet Potatoes 🍠
Unlike regular sweet potatoes with an orange flesh, goguma are purple on the outside and pale yellow on the inside. They are naturally sweet with flavors resembling chestnuts.
When we have time, we'd roast goguma as a healthy snack. It would smell amazing in the kitchen. Then you top each bite off with some fermented kimchi.
Each bite is a combination of warm and cold. Creamy caramelized sweetness entangled with crunch, tang and heat. It's such a special combo.
If you come across Korean sweet potatoes next time while you shop, grab a few to roast and pair them with some bubbly, fermented kimchi. It might just become your new favorite snack. 😉

Yaki Imo in Japan and Kumera in New Zealand...just as popular and just as tasty. There are different varieties of Kūmara, however, only three main varieties are commercially available in New Zealand. The most common is the red-skinned, Owairaka Red, which has a creamy white flesh and is sold as Red; gold kūmara, sometimes sold as Toka Toka Gold, has a golden skin and flesh, and a sweeter taste than red; orange kūmara, sometimes sold as Beauregard, has a rich orange flesh and is sweeter than both red and gold. Beauregard kūmara can be used instead of yams in North American recipes. ref vegetables,co,nz The Owairaka Red is very similar to the Japanese varieties.
