CARNIVAL CORP TO ABSORB AND RETIRE P&O CRUISES AUSTRALIA BRAND
Strategic brand realignment will bring the curtain down on 90 years of history for P&O Cruises Australia.
Carnival Corporation has today announced it will sunset the P&O Cruises Australia brand in Mar 2025 and fold P&O's operations into Carnival Cruise Line.

From Mar next year, Pacific Encounter and Pacific Adventure will rebrand as Carnival Cruise Line ships, with Pacific Explorer to exit the fleet and expanding Carnival's operations in Australia to four ships.

Names for the two rebranded ships are yet to be revealed but both will operate alongside Carnival Splendor - which sails year-round from Sydney - and Carnival Luminosa, which will remain as a seasonal operation from Brisbane.

Current itineraries and operations will remain as usual for now, the company said, with impacted guests to be notified in the coming days of any changes to future bookings.

Anthem of the Seas and Voyager of the Seas will replace Quantum of the Seas and Ovation of the Seas Down Under.

Two new Royal Caribbean International ships, Anthem of the Seas and Voyager of the Seas, will cruise in Australia in 2025-26, the line has announced.

Anthem will make her debut in Australia, after many successful seasons in Singapore, while Voyager will return to the country, having recently cruised in Asia.

The two ships will sail from Sydney (Anthem) and Brisbane (Voyager) respectively, offering a line-up of 45 short and long getaways to New Zealand and the South Pacific.

We are pleased to share that the Australian government (State and Commonwealth) has made the decision to lift COVID protocols for all guests. This is consistent with other parts of travel and hospitality, including restaurants, sporting and entertainment venues, and public transportation, and harmonises the Australian cruise sector with global standards.

Effective immediately, we are making it easier for all guests, irrespective of vaccination status, to sail on cruises of any length from Australia. Proof of vaccination, pre-cruise testing, and application for a vaccine exemption are no longer required. Reservations are now confirmed for all guests, including for those awaiting a vaccine exemption.

Important Update from P&O Cruises
We're so pleased to advise that all Australian government (State and Commonwealth) COVID-19 requirements on cruise have been removed effective 28 August 2023.
This includes the requirement for all guests over the age of 12 to be up to date with their COVID vaccinations, prior to boarding. The removal of all COVID -19 protocols is being implemented across P&O cruise ships effective immediately.
Importantly, the health and safety of our guests and crew remains a top priority and we will be maintaining prevention and control protocols across the fleet.
Even though it is no longer a requirement, we still strongly encourage all guests to remain up to date with vaccinations for Covid-19 and influenza. Guests who have respiratory symptoms within 5 days of embarkation should test for COVID-19 and if positive, stay home.
