I'm back...not that I ever left! I am just super slack at posting on the socials.

I have been very busy creating lots of new pieces and I have also started selling at markets on my own. I had my first market a fortnight ago and I was overwhelmed by the sales I made and the feedback I received. It was a lot of fun. I will only do a handful of markets a year as I still work my regular day job.

I call this piece Sunset over Green Fields.

This commissioned piece is off to its forever home tomorrow.
The blue-banded bee (Amegilla) is a stunning species of bee known for its metallic blue bands across its abdomen. Native to Australia, they can be found in every state except Tasmania. They are a solitary bee preferring to make their nest in soft sandstone. Although solitary, they do nest with other blue banded bees forming a type of commune. Blue banded bees can buzz pollinate, making them vital for pollinating many native plants, and some crops such as tomatoes.

Tree of Life
The Tree of Life is a symbol that has been present in various cultures, religions, and philosophies throughout history. Interpretations and meanings are diverse but some common themes associated with the Tree of Life include: Connection and Interconnectedness; Cycle of Life and Renewal; Unity and Balance; and Nurturing and Support.
Vintage amethyst (more like a light smoky brown) Morisco/Arabesque glass is used to depict the soil. I used 8 different greens to represent the leaves.

Not glass related but I couldn't resist sharing these pics of a Tawny Frogmouth perching in our mulberry tree.
He perched there for hours today, I suspect resting before beginning his nocturnal activities. I say 'he' because from what I have read, I think he is a male, please correct me if I am wrong.
Isn't he magnificant?!
