OVERHEAD STABILITY ✨
STABILITY refers to the concept of holding still and overhead stability requires a variety of musculature, joints and tendons to work together
Whether you’re simply carrying groceries, or a backpack, you’d be amazed how muscle activation and stability is needed for these simple every day tasks
Our core stability, being able to brace, holds an important factor in being stable and strong overhead. The overhead carry can help you develop stability, strength and mobility!

Why do I encourage movement/rehab along with manual therapy? Because I know it works! I had the pleasure of being the team chiro/trainer for the Brisbane Bandits for the ‘22/23 ABL season so I had to make sure these guys were ready to go each week! The same rehab principles apply wether you’re a professional or every day athlete as my goal is to help you perform and feel better ✨

Let’s talk hip stabilisers ✨
Featured is the Copenhagen plank which is a great accessory exercise to train those adductors which play a crucial role for pelvic stabilisation.
Anytime you’re standing on one leg (like every step you take while walking) the adductors work to prevent your knee from caving in. A great reason to keep these guys strong don’t you think 🤔
The goal is to create a straight line from the ankles to the hips and the shoulders
Remember to brace and squeeze the glutes as you hold this position
DRY NEEDLING ✨
A treatment modality I use a lot in clinic to treat hyperirritable spots located in the tight band of skeletal muscle
Dry needling can elicit a local twitch response which can lead to alterations in the length and tension of muscle fibres
Increase blood flow which can decrease pain caused by muscle trigger points
When combined with other manual therapy techniques and exercise programs, dry needling can improve pain and the function of the body
