I Quit Being Tired

So I followed my own advice and took myself to Lifestyle Retreat for 3 nights last week.
How was it? Amazing. It was just what I needed to destress, motivate and energise.
3 night and 4 days of rest, beautiful trail walks, nature, relaxing treatments, organic food, organic gardening workshops, different forms of exercise classes and time away from the normal schedule and pace of life.
My tip: if you know you are feeling tired, are stressed and need a break don’t leave it too long to do something about it. Make space in your life to look after yourself. You deserve it.
{Spring} It’s Spring, yay!! I much prefer the warmer weather. How about you?
😀🌞🌸🌼
Get some sun on you (safely) 🤩
It is D Day: Make time for some safe sunshine and boost your Vitamin D!
For many of us, winter often feels like a time for hibernating, hunkering down until the warm weather returns. But this year, with COVID’s impact, that thought has become a reality.
We’ve come to equate staying home with staying safe and while this is true, we must remember that getting out into the sunshine not only lifts our spirits but is important for our health and well-being because it helps to replenish our vital supplies of Vitamin D.

2020 vibes....🤨
Remember to be kind to yourself, we are living through an unprecedented pandemic.
{healthy habits} One small change is all you need to get you started. I find this is my own life and also in the people that I work with- we make one change (making a juice once a day) and all of a sudden we get motivated and other healthy habits become easy (cooking healthier meals).
It’s called momentum and it’s easy once you have the trigger to start.
I’m enjoying the juicing and also searching for new recipes and I’m cooking more. 😋
We’re going through a juicing phase at home, look at the beautiful colour of today’s!
Since COVID-19 everyone is more reliant on technology and internet use, however it’s important to be mindful of how much time you spend on the internet, especially for young children and teenagers.
Compulsive internet use by teens linked to emotional issues: study Internet addiction in teenagers consistently led to emotion regulation issues, according to a new study by University of Sydney and Australian Catholic University researchers. Find out more.
Listen to Oprah’s rousing speech to the graduating class of 2020. As she says, we are all graduating.
Let it motivate, inspire you and drive you forward.
This quote is so pertinent as restrictions start to ease and we have the opportunity to create a new normal.
Do what you love and love what you do ❤️
This year more than ever mums deserve to feel the love.... Happy Mother’s Day to all of the mothers and mother figures ❤️❤️❤️
Just in case no one told you today....
thank you, you’re amazing!
I’m hoping my children have enough positive memories when they look back and remember COVID-19. 🙏
So true. ❤️
Shout out to the kids. 💛🧡❤

{Gratitude} What you focus on grows.
Today I made a conscious effort to smile more and to appreciate the good things in my life and it made a tremendous difference to my outlook and to the mood in the house.
It sounds so simple- smile more but when we have a lot on our plate or are focused on finishing a task we forget to do it.
What is something you are grateful for today?
I’m grateful for the creativity and resilience of my children. Here is a project my little one made from birthday cards.
Friday lunchtime feels...
After 5 minutes in the car, I’m ready to go again.
Some tips to get you through isolation!
Watch this if you are needing motivation, or area feeling overwhelmed, stressed, are working from home, have neck or back pain or have children at home- we covered a lot in this short video!
{be more present} One moment and one step at a time is how we’ll get through this.
Don’t think too far ahead, don’t get caught up trying to predict the future.
Worrying is like a rocking chair- it gives you something to do but it doesn’t get you anywhere.
Shift your thinking and be more mindful, more present.
What is your intention for this present moment? Focus your attention on this and park every other thought that tries to distract you.
Make the present moment count and give it your full attention.
Not only will this cut down your overwhelm and stress but it will enhance your motivation and mood.
Hair, nails, gym.......even going to the dentist is going to be so wonderful! ❤️
We are going through a challenging time and are coping with a great deal of stress and uncertainty.
If you are stuck in an isofunk, don’t feel very productive and are finding it hard to get motivated- there is one thing you can do that will make a big difference to your day.
Read about it in this blog post I wrote for Family Doctors Plus.
A lot of you are going through a stressful period right now. You feel overwhelmed, are under an immense amount of stress and you are juggling so many demands. It’s hard to focus and stay motivated as the stress feels too much.
Modern research about mindfulness and meditation shows that over time and with regular practice, mindfulness offers significant benefits to people including less stress, less anxiety, greater focus, calm and happiness.
Simply put, it can help you get out of your funk.
The incredible, Beatrice Peters (Wellness Consultant and Physiotherapist) from I Quit Being Tired shared this blog with the Family Doctors Plus team on how to use mindfulness to manage stress and overcome stressful periods with clarity, focus and more energy.

{coping with the current situation}We are all in this together.
Times are tough right now and we are all coping with a lot of change and a lot of uncertainty.
Everyone is learning, adapting and doing their best to hold it together.
Be kind to yourself and remember there is no one way to get through this.
We may not be able to connect face to face with our friends and loved ones but we are not alone.
Make sure you stay connected and communicate.
More than at any other time in recent history, we are all facing an enormous challenge.
Together we’ll get through this.
This is an old photo- you can tell by the fact we’re out of our pjs and active wear.
You could also be loving this. Every feeling you are having is valid.
Wishing you and your loved ones a Happy Easter, love and blessings to all.
Even though we are facing an unprecedented challenge, there is still plenty to be thankful for.
A morning bike ride before we retreat back to our little bubble again- things could be worse 🥳
A wonderful reminder from ❤️
{Coronavirus school holidays at home tip} If you’re tired of the kids complaining that they’re bored and have nothing to do, here’s my tip:
-have some cleaning projects that you want to tick off around the house. Choose one project every day.
If the kids come to you and say they’re bored, they have nothing to do or they’re fighting a lot ask them to help you. Tell them that it will be lots of fun.....
You’ll find that they will either help you which is brilliant or they will all of a sudden find things to do.
Guaranteed you won’t hear from your kids again until you have finished.
It’s a win either way!
(Please note I’m not spending all of my time cleaning, we have been having lots of family time) 🤣
Feeling like Shannon Lush this morning and having a scintillating time cleaning the bathroom and shower! I’ve watched so many cleaning videos using natural cleaners over the years- I used half a lemon, vinegar, oil of clove, bicarb soda and my Enjo cloths for the job.
It was invigorating....
Ps, send help. 😜😀
Sharing is caring.
If you’re struggling, make sure you acknowledge your feelings. Every emotion you feel right now is valid. Talk to someone. Hang in there.
{fitness equipment panic buying} I was so surprised last night when I shared this photo of our daughter trying out our new treadmill on my personal page.
I called it the ultimate panic buy. So many of my friends commented that they had done the same- they had bought new stationary bikes, treadmills, dumbbells, trampolines and bands!
With gyms, fitness centres as studios closing and people staying home, it’s great that we are being proactive about our health and fitness. Online fitness programs and virtual classes are also a great idea. The options are endless. Of course, if you are not in lockdown you can still go for a walk, run or cycle outside as long as you keep your distance.
We also thought we needed something for our very active girls!
