To finish us off we have Part-Time Academy student Ollie sharing a little bit about himself and his experiences at Dance Conservatory!

Q. How long have you been dancing for?
I started dancing when I was 3 and haven’t stopped since 🙌🏼

Q. What’s the MOST embarrassing thing that has happened to you on stage?
I was performing my lyrical solo, did a toe roll up, slipped and fell forwards on my face 🤭

Q. How did your journey with Dance Conservatory start?
It started last year in 2023 when I was looking for extra training outside of my studio and Dance Conservatory looked like the best option for me!! Having previously been taught by our Director, I knew I was going to be in a hard working, fulfilling and challenging environment that would enhance my everyday dance training and prepare me for the future 🖤🤍

Q. What are the untold benefits about Dance Conservatory? 🤫
The psychological training we receive is very in depth and allows us to create healthy relationships between ourselves, dance and life in general - to ultimately improve the longevity of our career. At DCA our training links directly from classroom to industry and we are always reminded to take care of our mind & body above anything 🙌🏽👏🏽

Q. Do you prefer the beach or the rainforest?
I prefer the beach because I love to watch the sunrise and sunset there 🌅

Q. What studio do you go to?
I go to Xtreme Dance Company 🙌🏼

Q. What is your favourite dance movie or TV show?
My favourite dance movie is ‘Feel The Beat’🕺

Q: What is the difference between Dance Conservatory and your studio training?
Dance Conservatory allows us to work with a variety of different choreographers and styles weekly. A highlight from last term was learning ballroom 💃🏼❤️

I would LOVE to travel to Europe!! ✈️

Q: What is the MOST embarrassing thing that has happened to you on stage?
At the end of a song and dance routine I fell on my bottom 🫣

Q: What are the untold benefits about Dance Conservatory?
Dance Conservatory is extremely structured and organised!! I also LOVE the new friendships I have made throughout this process ✨

Although I am small in size, I am a pocket rocket with a bit personality 💥

Dance Nation 💃🏼

Q: What have you learnt most about at Dance Conservatory?
At Dance Conservatory I have had the opportunity to be taught by amazing teachers & guest artists. I have developed my individuality and am consistently setting goals for the future 🙌🏼

Q: Does dance run in your family?
My Great Grandmother used to teach dance, my Grandfather used to train in Ballroom, my Grandmother owns a Dance Studio, my Mum used to dance and my sisters are dancers!
So the answer would be YES 🤩🤩

Q: Where would you like to travel? 🏖️
I would LOVE to travel to America or Europe - especially Italy and France! Being able to dance in these countries would be a dream 🙌🏼

Q: What is the MOST embarrassing thing that has happened to you on stage?
Recently, when I was competing at a dance competition, my tap shoe broke and was hanging on for dear life for most of the routine 😆

Q: What are the untold benefits about Dance Conservatory?
Since being at Dance Conservatory, I have improved SO much! I have gained more confidence and experienced diverse areas of dance that I didn’t even know existed 🙌🏼🙌🏼

At Dance Conservatory we experience lots of technique training and goal setting - which I LOVE! As well as learning about Nutrition and Well-Being 🙌🏼

Q: Does dance run in your family?
Yes 👍🏼 my mum has always enjoyed dancing from a very early age, she even continued into her late 20s before she had me.

Q: Where would you like to travel?
I would 🤍 to travel to New York to see the Radio City Rockettes 💃🏼 and hopefully audition one day!

Q: How did your journey with Dance Conservatory start?
I’ve always wanted to join a Part-Time or Full-Time Course, but everywhere I auditioned didn’t feel right for me. When I came across Dance Conservatory everyone was so kind, and I found that I would be able to improve my skills and eventually get a job in the industry 🩶🖤

Q: What are the untold benefits about Dance Conservatory?
I love how small our classes are, which allows each student to receive personalised feedback! The other thing I love most about DCA is that there is a wide range of styles we are exposed to - if it weren’t for Dance Conservatory I would have never tried Aerial or Ballroom!! 🌟

I’m really good at making spaghetti for my family, which is funny because I don’t like eating it… 🍝

Helen Clark School of Dancing!

Q: What have you learnt the most about at Dance Conservatory?
I have learnt to always stay persistent and never give up trying to improve - I have so many goals I am prepared to accomplish, including picking up choreography faster, and strengthening my technique!! 💃🏼
