We’re having so much fun running immersive drama workshops at St Dympna's Primary School, Aspley!!

We love sharing the learning opportunities that are taking place within our school. This term Year 5 students are participating in drama workshops from Pebble Theatre . Drama equips St Dympna’s students with problem-solving skills and assists with academic achievement to enriching their worldview, the arts, and theatre in particular, is a gateway to happier, healthier students and communities. 🎭

I had the great pleasure of working with Mrs Wood and the lovely students at St Mary’s Catholic Primary School in Mackay on Monday.

I delivered our ‘Planet X’ program, so the students created a play world, characters and scenes in a day. Then I worked with Mrs Wood and we planned a drama unit about environmentalism and the reef!

Pebble Theatre is a new performing arts organisation that aims to give children confidence. 🎭

Founded by local Sarah Hope, and fuelled by her love for the arts, Ms Hope started Pebble Theatre to help young people achieve the incredible benefits of drama.

Pebble Theatre also provides programs for childcare centres, kindergartens and schools – and have already partnered with a number of primary schools in and Ms Hope’s home town of .

A few years ago I wrote a play for early years called 'Dog Dog'. It toured twice and has now been turned into a handy school resource thanks to Artback NT ! I am very excited and proud of this project! It was a collaboration with some great creatives like Ciella Williams, Rebecca Renshaw and Will Tinapple!

Join myself (Sarah) and Elizabeth Rogers, project producer from Artback NT, tomorrow afternoon as we talk about the project and unbox the 'Dog Dog' Bump in Box! This is a Regional Arts Australia Artlands event and you can register online!
