The weekend gone saw The Ruchik Corner whip up some delicious food for the Easter Dhamaka. Thank you Mangalorean Catholic Association of Brisbane for the opportunity to cater for this event, we look forward to many more of these.

For those unknown to the dish, these are freshly made crepes filled with a coconut and jaggery mix and enjoyed with tea or just gobbled up on their own.

It’s hard to stay off from the kitchen so The Ruchik Corner will be in attendance at World Goa Day at the Churches of Christ, Sunnybank on 7th October from 4pm onwards.

Hello all & happy mid week 🙂

Trust you’ve all been well! This is a long post as there’s few bits to share.. so here goes:

- The Ruchik Corner will be hosting a stall of yummy food and Christmas sweets at World Goa Day celebrations on Sunday 6 November from 11am - 5pm at 105 Florence St, Wynnum. You are welcome to come to the food hall ONLY to purchase any of our items as listed in the menu pic attached to this post. Please note NO entry to the performance hall as this event is SOLD Out. Pre-orders are highly recommended to avoid disappointment on the day.

- Lastly & sadly, the World Goa Day stall will be our curtains down event. My personal commitments to career and family has increased significantly herein and I will not be able to afford time and dedication my cooking 😞.

To all of you who have ordered, encouraged and referred me to family & friends THANK YOU ❤️. What started out as a Covid hobby ended up being something I could never have dream of. For the networks and friendships I made along the way I am forever grateful 🥲. This little gig has enriched my life and you all surely made it that much brighter 😇

- But because I have loved cooking and making tummies so happy I will be selling homemade pastes/masalas & powders which you can use to make your very own yummy meals at your convenience. A bit of a backstory for a few changes to note:

I live in Upper Mt Gravatt Brisbane and have a young family (my last babies just started school this year 😭). I also work full time (crazy I know 🤪).

I started this page 2 years ago just as a passion for cooking & because the food I grew up on is ohhhh so wonderful 🤤 I just had to share it with the world.

And thus The Ruchik Corner was born 💓 I loveeeee cooking and the joy it brings me when I hear people thanking me for the food or that they simply just enjoyed it all, is what keeps me going. I look forward to filling your tummies once again with good home cooked food packed with passion and love ❤️ (& all fresh ingredients 🙂).

However as you can see I do have a very very busy schedule managing it all (3 kids x 3 times everything 😳). But I still want to make happy tummies.

So please do give me sufficient notice on orders as I make everything from scratch (masalas/powders etc) and it helps me immensely in planning my week around kids, work, life.

Orders will be limited as it’s only I, me, myself in the kitchen and I make every order like I would for my family & will not compromise on the quality of my food. So if I am unable to take your order on a particular weekend or make an item you request, I apologize in advance but I will always try and squeeze you in where and if I can.

For similar reasons, all orders are to be picked up locally from UMG. However do contact me to discuss any of our menu items or have large orders.

Sorry folks for another delay in getting back into the kitchen. This week my family & I all tested positive to Covid & have been resting and recovering. We are on the mend and will finish isolation next week.

Just a quick note since I’ve had a few people ask about orders.. Like everyone else around I am finding it hard to source meats and ingredients with the current supply chain issues.. hence I’ve pushed back on resuming orders.

I am hoping to have a menu up shortly and if all goes to plan will resume orders by the end of this month.

Merry Christmas from The Ruchik Corner!

We hope you all had a lovely Christmas with your loved ones. The Ruchik Corner was delighted to fill so many tummies this year.

I’ve been overwhelmed with the number of orders and the response has been fantastic 🤩.

We trust you all enjoyed the food and sweets and even if you were home away from home our food made your day awesome ❤️

Special shout out to my cousin Andrea who has collaborated with me in making those delicious fugias (golden crisp but soft balls that you can’t stop at 1) which again was not an easy task in this Qld heat. She’s made some tummies very happy as was the feedback we received.

All in all it’s been an absolute crazy week but so worth it when you hear your customers rave about the food 😍 So thank you 🙏🏻 once again.

37kgs of food and 12kgs of sweets later, I will be taking a well deserved break from the kitchen over the next month.
