Pictured here is a nice box full of regular (aka Standard) 8mm movie film. We can scan this for you (and also Super 8, 9.5mm & 16mm) at a minimum transfer resolution of full high definition (1080p), with the option to go higher (2K or 4K).

Our safe, flicker-less frame-by-frame conversion is now a full "wet-gate" transfer, which lessens or removes base scratches, included at no extra cost! (NB: This is completely safe for your film).

Always interesting, a 78 RPM acetate record, which consists of a metal disk core coated in acetate. Often when we receive acetates the layer has started to crack or even lift in sections. So getting one in good condition is great news, especially as the record has precious personal history associated with it.

The client has never heard it played at the correct speed (78 rpm), and as it contains a recording of her grandfather playing in a band, they will be very excited to hear the results!

An average videotape's lifespan is said to be only 30 years. The older your tape gets, the more likely it is to be affected by scratching or mould. This puts tapes at much greater risk for poor picture quality.

We have developed cleaning & restoration processes that can save tapes much older than 30 years (which would be 1994, by the way!), even mouldy or broken tapes. So there's no need to panic. But you also should not get complacent. Age won't improve them any more that it improves the bags under our eyes!😀

Old Kodak film from the 1930s. Love that old reel design! Going to try to save this film from bad vinegar syndrome effects (very warped) with a new experimental treatment. Treatment will take about 6 months, but worth the try. We’d love to be able to offer a reliable restoration option for severely warped films. Watch this space for updates! 🤞

Below it, downsized to around 1/5th so that the frame sizes match for our comparison here, is RetroMedia's gate-less, true Frame-by-Frame Full High Def 1080p capture, demonstrating the difference in picture quality, as well as just how much of your film image a competitors system can crop off.

Plus, just to reiterate, in real life our frame size would be a minimum of around 500% larger, which means that your High Def TV does not have to upscale a Standard Def picture, with the attendant risk of picture softening &/or pixellation.
