QATSIF provides educational scholarships to support Queensland First Nations Year 11 and 12 students.
QATSIF provides educational scholarships to assist Queensland Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students to complete their Year 11 and 12 studies. QATSIF supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students with gaining their QCE (Queensland Certificate of Education) and also supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students with a disability to gain their QCIA (Queensland Certificate of Individual Achievement).
Each year, QATSIF (Queensland Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Foundation) invites our schools to select an outstanding student leader from amongst their current Year 11 and 12 QATSIF students.
This deadly young leader will be recognised with a 2024 QATSIF Young Indigenous Leader Award medallion and certificate for presentation at each school's Annual Awards Night or a similar occasion.

Every Queensland school was invited to take part in our 7th annual competition. This year, we had a record 208 entries from Queensland's deadly First Nations secondary school artists in visual arts, poetry, music, dance, pottery and sculpture.
We have posted out our trophies, medallions and certificates through all participating schools.

The wisdom of prominent Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians is set to music and artwork from our 2024 QATSIF Creative Arts Competition. All of the music and art featured was created by Queensland Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander secondary students.

Thanks to all Queensland Schools who have put forward their current Year 10 and 11 students for a QATSIF Scholarship next year. As usual, we expect that these scholarships will be approved by mid-November so that schools can notify families before the school holidays.
QATSIF looks forward to welcoming its 21,000th student next year. This will mean that nearly 9% of Queensland's total Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander population will have received a QATSIF Scholarship. ππΎ
Calling all future First Nation Australia STEM Professionals!
START QUT (STEM Intensive) delivers a first-year QUT STEM unit in a two-week intensive study program during the summer holidays in January 2025. This unique program is designed for current Year 11 students entering Year 12 in 2025. There are no tuition fees for successful applications.
The QUT Oodgeroo Unit is committed to facilitating and supporting educational endeavours and STEM aspirations of First Nation Australians. As such, the QUT Oodgeroo Unit can support any First Nation Australian student participating in the START QUT (STEM Intensive) program with transport and accommodation.

Janice took out 1st place in Year 10 Portraiture and Highly Commended in Year 10 Printmaking. Noah received 3rd place in Year 9 Portraiture.

Home Affairs Gap Year program - for any Year 12 students looking at taking a Gap Year.
The Department of Home Affairs Gap Year Program provides an opportunity for people who will complete Year 12 in 2024 to join their dynamic workforce dedicated to keeping Australia prosperous, secure and united.
This 12-month entry level program allows participants to build their knowledge and diverse skills whilst carrying out meaningful and important work. The Gap Year Program provides a supportive learning environment working as part of a team; and includes a comprehensive learning and training program throughout the year, along with support from supervisors and the Entry Level Programs team.
You will be engaged as a non-ongoing employee, however program participants may be offered ongoing positions upon successful completion of the program.

QATSIF (Queensland Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Foundation) celebrated its 10th Anniversary on November 25th, 2018.
In those 10 years, QATSIF has grown to be Queenslandβs largest Indigenous Scholarship fund supporting over 7,300 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students to complete their senior studies.
QATSIF is proud to have supported the Highest Achieving Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Students in Queensland for the past three years.
QATSIF is unique in that we support students from across all of Queenslandβs education systems.
