By drawing on your own experience, you can share stories and feelings with people who โ€˜just get itโ€™, providing each other with friendship and understanding.

Support groups are a great way to build confidence, learn about and share knowledge and overcome the isolation often experienced by people with MS.

At 40, Janine did the incredibleโ€”she won a bronze medal in taekwondo at the Tokyo Paralympics. This, after being told at 25 that sheโ€™d be in a wheelchair within five years and might not live past 40. But Janine, a determined teacher and athlete, refused to let that prognosis define her.

With the support of MS Queensland's physiotherapists and allied health professionals, she made the impossible possible.

We were thrilled to welcome renowned Neurological Physiotherapist Gilly Davy to MS Queensland's Neuro Wellness Hub! Gilly delivered her MS Ultimate Mobility One Day Practical Workshop to our Allied Health team as well as physiotherapists and exercise physiologists from across QLD and northern NSW.

Mobility is the top goal for our customers, and Gilly shared her 20 years of experience and the latest research to help address this. The workshop was packed with practical sessions and strategies to improve movement, function, and gait. ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ

MS Australia is excited to announce the three recipients of the first round of incubator grants for 2024. These innovative MS researchers have been awarded grants to explore groundbreaking ideas in MS research.

๐Ÿ”ฌ Dr. Dongang Wang (University of Sydney) is using advanced AI to improve MRI monitoring for better prediction of MS progression.

๐Ÿ”ฌ Dr. Xin Lin (University of Tasmania) is validating proteins as biomarkers of MS, aiming to enhance diagnosis and treatment.

In partnership with CQUniversity, MS Queensland is thrilled to bring back the six-week Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) Program in 2024!

Starting on Tuesday, August 20th, the 'Living Well with MS' program aims to connect individuals and provide valuable tools and strategies to adjust to the challenges of living with MS.

The online program will be facilitated by provisional psychologists under the supervision of Melissa Attwood, a Clinical Psychologist. Each session is 2 hours long, offering a supportive space to share experiences and learn ACT strategies.
