Introducing Kawa Coffee: A Journey of Passion and Innovation

In the heart of Paris, a group of young coffee professionals embarked on a mission in 2016. Led by Alexis Gagnaire, Kawa Coffee was born from a deep love for specialty coffee and a desire to transform how the French experience their daily brew. Inspired by the vibrant coffee scene in London, Alexis returned to his roots, determined to elevate the coffee culture in his home country.

The Birth of Kawa Coffee

Kawa Coffee began as a response to traditional French coffee culture, where espresso reigned but specialty coffee was still finding its footing. Alexis and his team aimed to create a brand that emphasized the quality and origin of the coffee, telling the story behind each cup. From Ethiopia to Colombia, Kawa’s beans are carefully sourced to reflect the diverse flavors and rich heritage of their origins.

A Commitment to Ethical Sourcing and Equality

At Kawa Coffee, the story of each bean begins with the people who grow it. The team is deeply committed to working directly with small-scale producers, ensuring sustainable and ethical production. Within Kawa, every team member is treated equally, fostering a collaborative environment where all ideas are valued. This inclusive approach enriches both the coffee and the culture behind it.

Crafting the Perfect Roast

Since its founding, Kawa has focused on sharing the rich experience of specialty coffee. Over the years, they’ve perfected a roasting style centered around vibrant, fruity notes. While they’ve found their signature approach, Kawa’s team, including competitive baristas, continues to push the boundaries of coffee innovation, always refining their craft to deliver the best in every cup.

Celebrate Kawa Coffee with Us

Join us at our Guest Coffee bar to experience Kawa Coffee. Whether you’re a long-time fan of specialty coffee or just beginning your journey, Kawa offers a taste of something special—a story brewed into every cup.

Founded by Carlos Moral and his partner Mateo González; the former comes from a local coffee industry dating back to 1979, Hidden Coffee Roasters is known for its exceptional quality and innovative approach to specialty coffee.

For his part, Mateo is a great connoisseur of Asian culture, who has been in charge of developing the Matcha line. The other great Hidden product is brought directly from Wazuka, Japan, where, as with coffee, the relationship is direct with the producers, achieving excellent quality.

The Essence of Hidden Coffee Roasters

The name "Hidden" reflects founder's vision of bringing specialty coffee out of obscurity and into the light. Their dedication to sustainability and transparency is evident in their efforts to support coffee producers and create a positive impact on the entire value chain.

A Word from the Founder

Carlos Moral, along with his brothers Jonathan and Joaquin, operates separate roasting companies in the Barcelona area. Innovative Roasting Techniques

In the early days of Hidden, Carlos and the team designed their own coffee roasting machine to generate the best possible convection heat, resulting in cleaner and more delicious coffee.

Important Price Adjustment Notice Effective 3/7/24

Dear valued customers,

We regret to inform you that starting July 3rd, we will be adjusting our coffee prices. This decision has been driven by rising operational expenses, including increases in wages, superannuation, and the costs of international freight and exchange rate.

We understand that price changes are never welcome news and that they affect all of us. As a family-owned business, we are particularly sensitive to the impact on our community. However, these adjustments are essential to maintain the exceptional quality and service that you have come to expect from Inter/Setion. The price increase is necessary to cover our operational expenses as well as to support our staff during this challenging time, as they face significant overhead due to inflation impacting their daily expenses.

Despite these changes, we remain committed to offering the delicious taste of different single-origin, exotic coffees and international roasters at no extra charge through our grinder.

Please note that the price increase will only apply to our dine-in and takeaway coffee. Retail coffee prices will remain the similar

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to us at [email protected]. We greatly appreciate your continued support and understanding.

Sincerely,

Inter/Section Team

Our story with La Marzocco Strada started in 2014, the year we opened our doors. The Strada EP, known for its electronic paddle, was a game-changer, giving our baristas the ability to fine-tune the espresso's pressure. This control unlocked a range of flavors, enhancing the espresso with notes of sweetness, brightness, and complexity.

Though the Strada EP was a barista's dream for crafting the ideal espresso, its design was less suited for the high demands of a busy café, where consistency at volume is key. Over ten years, we've honed our craft, shot by shot weight in and weight out, always wishing for a machine that combined the EP's favor prfofile with the ability to handle volume effortlessly.

The anticipation built over six years, fueled by rumors of a new Strada, has finally culminated. The Strada X has arrived, enhancing the features we loved in the EP and introducing groundbreaking advancements like Smart Saturation and Mass Based Profiling. This machine is tailored for the dynamics of a busy café, ready to deliver consistent, quality espresso without compromise.

We're thrilled to welcome the Strada X to our lineup and look forward to sharing its capabilities with you. It promises to transform our coffee offerings and elevate every cup to new heights.

Come visit us and experience the Strada X in action at our Guest Coffee Bar. It's an opportunity to taste the innovation and craftsmanship that define La Marzocco.

For a deeper dive into the Strada X's features and improvements, visit the following link:
[Discover the Strada X](https://au.lamarzocco.com/news/blog/introducing-the-next-generation-of-the-strada/)

Together, let's explore the next chapter in our coffee journey with the Strada X.

Introducing Moonshine Coffee Roasters: A Blend of Love, Culture, and Craft

We're thrilled to unveil Moonshine Coffee Roasters as our next guest roaster, a testament to the extraordinary journey of Zenki and Regina. Born from a shared passion for Melbourne's vibrant coffee culture, they brought their dream back to Taipei, aiming to infuse the city with a slice of the coffee haven they cherished. But what truly sets them apart is not just their journey or achievements but the story behind their name and vision.

The Essence of Moonshine

The name "Moonshine" evokes images of clandestine creativity under the moon's glow, a nod to Prohibition-era endeavors where the quest for crafting something unique thrived against the odds. For Zenki and Regina, "Moonshine" represents more than their nocturnal roasting sessions; it symbolizes the luminescence of their dream in the darkness, a beacon for quality, warmth, and community in the bustling city of Taipei.

Zenki's Mastery and Regina's Vision

Zenki, with his accolades including the prestigious 2023 WCE World Brewers Cup Hong Kong Championship, brings unparalleled expertise and dedication to every bean roasted. Regina's vision, to make coffee an integral part of life akin to their Melbourne experience, shapes the soul of Moonshine, making it a sanctuary for coffee lovers.

From Melbourne to Taipei: A Journey of Love and Coffee

Their venture began with the opening of their first shop, a challenging yet rewarding endeavor that quickly became a beloved spot for those seeking authenticity and quality. As Moonshine evolved, so did their identity, with the second shop reflecting a more matured blend of Taiwanese and Melbourne coffee culture, embodying their unique style while staying true to the essence of "Moonshine" - crafting exceptional coffee experiences under the Taiwan sky.

Join Us in Celebrating Moonshine Coffee Roasters

As Moonshine Coffee Roasters joins us, we invite you to partake in the unique journey of Zenki and Regina. Experience the heart and soul poured into each cup, where the legacy of Melbourne's coffee culture meets the spirit of Taiwanese innovation. Moonshine isn't just a name; it's a story of passion, a symbol of night-turned-day creativity, and a testament to what love for coffee can build.

Welcome to the Moonshine experience, where every sip tells a story of love, craft, and a dream that found its home under the moonlit sky of Taipei.
