Bale Details: Our cotton burgundy-coloured Reed chinos are woven in a textured dobby weave, giving them a more fashionable edge over traditional utility chinos; however, a composition of 2% recycled elastane provides the Reed with the elasticity associated with a stretch-chino. M.J. Bale Custom tailoring appointments are taken in store, then the garments are create in Otaru, Hokkaido, by a team of tailors under the watchful eye of Kaneko-san (last image). “We aim to deliver products with the warmth of the craftsperson’s hand, combining new technology with the best of old ones,” says Kaneko.
The “Godfather”, Kaneko-san, photographed last month in our new national flagship store at No. 1 Martin Place. Kaneko is hard at it right now in his atelier in Otaru, Hokkaido, crafting the latest Custom tailoring orders for our customers.
