Insanely cool, massive white Batflowers with even more gigantic leaves. These beauties are otherworldly and alien like with their long tendrils that curl and hang down and their almost rubber-like texture. Definitely unusual and special! Have never seen them this big before! Really love them.

It was the culmination of the most incredible people in the crypto/XRPL space and included some very special guests travelling to the GC from all over the world to join us. We heard John Deatons incredible life story that led up to him suing the SEC, super interesting panels led by Crypto Eri, talks by Bearable Bull & Blockchain Backer, and the whole thing MC’ed by none other than Chip & Jeff from On The Chain.
I have nothing but wonderful things to say about this weekend, and complete love and respect for these people and so many others who completely opened my heart with the genuine connection we all felt. Still on a high from smiling and laughing so much. Love you all and can’t wait to do it all again next year 😘

Very excited for all the botanical workshops we have created to share this year…all centred around being in the garden, connecting to the peace that the garden provides, growing edible beauty, and the joy that comes from growing and blooming something from seed.
This year is about nurturing small ideas and seedlings and seeing them bloom into the most spectacular of gardens.

Plants are so great at reminding us of stillness, of our presence, and of life. They are beauty, growth, peace and life all at once.

Making terrariums is like a meditation. The workshops I hold that were once creative classes to teach a skill, have evolved into so much more. The act of being still and focusing on slowly building something of beauty is so wonderful for mental health. Just the act of having your hands in soil does something magical to us, reconnects us to nature, to calm, to presence.

I really want to share this more. My focus is on creating space where anyone suffering with their mental health can come and enjoy connecting to nature, feel calm, and take something away that they can continue to to connect with and enjoy over time.

Plants & Mindfulness is a new workshop focused on this. While it’s still terrariums, there are many aspects of the workshop that I have changed to cater to anyone whose mental health is needing support and is purposely a calm and quiet space to facilitate this.

Throwback to me mid-creation on my all time favourite botanical piece created for Camerata - Queensland’s Chamber Orchestra at QPAC.

Epic natives and foraged tree bark was used to turn this lighting truss (yes it’s a lighting truss) into a life sized eucalypt for the theatrical and orchestral epic When The World Was Wide.
Loved working with the amazing creatives at Camerata and QPAC...can’t wait to do it again soon!

I had wondered if people had considered flowers and plants ‘essential’ because they are often seen as a luxury. But the way they convey love and connection from one person to another and the emotion I see from these exchanges tells me that they are.

I see flowers as essential to communicating our love for each other and ourselves, something that we can’t live without.
