About the role:

Exponential growth has created an exciting career opportunity for an experienced hands-on CNC Workshop Manager to lead and mentor a team of both tradesman and apprentices in their daily operations. The role will also assist with the scheduled workflow across multiple CNC machines in a streamlined and cost-effective manner. The successful candidate will also lead staff in maintaining training and maintenance schedules. Our machine shop comprises of CNC lathes and machining centres with multi-axis capabilities.

Leadership/ Management

Effectively lead machine shop personnel to encourage best working practices;
Develop and encourage a positive team environment;
Manage all aspects of the machine shop to a standard of excellence.
Learning and development

Provide adequate training and support for apprentices and trainees; and
Facilitate continuous learning, upskilling and support to machine shop personnel.
Hands on Machining

As we are a small machine shop, the successful candidate will be happy to continue to be hands on with machining jobs.
Maintenance

Ensure machine shop team follows regular maintenance schedule.


The successful candidate will have:

Machining trade qualification
Proven experience in leading a team in a CNC machine shop environment
Extensive use of CAD/CAM software
High level management skills
Be results focused
Happy to do some hands on machining
Effective communication skills and interpersonal skills
Highly effective decision making and collaboration skills
A team player
A “Can Do” attitude
Ability to work well under pressure
Wages are paid weekly and some Saturday work is required.

Remuneration package will be discussed with the successful applicant depending on the individuals existing experience, qualifications and skills.

As a result of strong growth, we are looking for trade qualified boilermakers for an immediate start at our modern engineering workshop at Sumner Park.

The successful applicants must have the following:

Certificate III in Engineering Heavy Fabrication (Boiler Maker) or equivalent.

At least 2 years post trade experience in mechanical fabrication

Experience in operating CNC Brake Press a definite advantage

Able to read workshop drawings

Be reliable

Enthusiastic and have a good work ethic

Demonstrate initiative

Be an Australian resident or citizen
