It’s your last chance for Sunday breakfast...so...
A few weeks after we first opened a young lady walked in with a Tupperware container of pretty cakes and said ‘Hi I’m Greta and I really like to bake, I was wondering if you would like to try these’
We knew straight away she was a perfect fit for what we where trying to accomplish and ever since that day Greta has produced 100’s and 100’s of beautiful treats for us all. Not once has she missed a beat and has maintained the highest of quality week in week out.
So from the bottom of our hearts we would love to thank Greta for all of her passion, love and support over the years. This place would not of been what it was without your contribution.
Below is the very first pic we shared of Greta’s creations!
This is Eric.. he has been coming down every week pretty much from day 1 with his son Christian.
He never just orders what’s on the menu, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
Guna miss you mate.. thanks for all your support.
I’m here till 11
But it’s just me today..
Please be gentle 😂
Over the next couple weeks we are going to celebrate some of the cool stuff we have shared/experienced with you guys!
Today is all about THOSE cheese cakes!!
Let’s all take a moment to appreciate the actual 100’s of amazingly gorgeous (and tasty) cheese cakes The Baristorian lady made at all hours of the night 🤪
Thank you Corinne x
What was your favourite?

Dear fam,
This month marks the 5th anniversary of us driving past our little corner and seeing the "Lease" sign, the day after musing over leaving the corporate and fickle food truck worlds behind us and opening a cafe. The aim was to provide flexibility for the Baristorian to finish her degree and meet her son's higher needs, while giving Michael autonomy and creative freedom outside of the corporate sales rat-race. We ultimately hoped to create a little community and safe space where people could come to us for a chat, whinge, cheer-up, hugs, free baby-holding-while-you-eat-your-lunch service, free coffee/feed etc.
Well. Most of that has been accomplished and the COVID deviation 8 months into our journey provided us the opportunity to work with the wider community in ways we hadn't even contemplated.
We got to keep our integrity through the pandemic - towards our staff, the community and ourselves. This is probably our proudest achievement as we never once alienated any of our existing or potential customers. Out of everything, we will look back on this with utmost pride even though we took a stonker of a financial hit by operating as takeaway only for 3 months. But it was worth it!
Paradoxically, we had a great time working through lockdowns as we engaged with the food truck families and commenced our goal of providing a space for our Indigenous fam and local artisans to display and sell their wares commission-free. Remember the little Mother's Day stall we had next door for 3 days? The book swaps and attempt to get a weekly sewing group going and the school holiday art and craft sessions next door? Indigenous art, crazy cheesecakes, funky fudge, our beautiful Jo, amazing Amy, and awesome Ange, not to mention my tough little trooper daughter (19) who worked SO HARD through COVID and has never once let us down to this day. She's the one who cooks ALL the food on Friday, Saturday AND Sunday. *Proud Mum-brag deactivated*. Pre-made dinners, building an outdoor dining area, NAIDOC Week native food menus, all the jams and relishes, radical books, and ALL THE REUBENS AND ROESTI BENES!! (We were never forgiven by so many for talking those roestis off the menu).
There's obviously so much more and so many personal experiences we can't share, but heck, did we get more than we bargained for this day 5 years ago when we signed that lease.
And today, we have been advised that our lease is not going to be renewed, and given that our personal circumstances have also changed, it's the end of our era on this little corner.
Thank you everyone who ever supported us. Thank you to those who left positive reviews. Please, please do this for cafes - you have no idea how much it means when you're wondering if it's all worth it and then you get a 5⭐️ Google review notification from someone who was so stoked with their experience that they took that time to let you and everyone else, know! Thank you to our loyalists - let's try and name them all.... Jase, Mason, Anna, Sharon, Dave and Sammy, Deb, Eric, Darcy and Jessie, Adriano and Adam (boyzzzzz!!! 😭😭) Rowan, Richard and Davina, Bill, Blake, "Good Fellows" Michael, Tim and Holly, Angela, Judy, Land Rover Joe, Mike, Nick and Andrea, the Yoga ladies, Fiona, Jez, Ian and Sue, Mark... OK, this is starting to look like movie credits....
We'll be wrapping up by the end of October. Please, please come and see us before then. If you've been thinking about buying some of Maddie's art, please grab it now while it's still commission free and the prices are slashed!
Thanks fam. We're going to miss you all and we truly hope you remember us fondly ✊️❤️
Fresh start Monday
Bacon & Egg Michael Muffin!! I know it’s a long name but I can’t quite figure out how to shorten it in some way 😬
Plus a small coffee for 10 bucks!!
When we opened, we were so excited to come up with a classic Rueben Sandwich that could stand next to some the best coming out of famous deli’s of New York.
Well, now after making over 5000 for you lot I think it’s safe to say we ‘nailed it’.
Housemade Corned Beef, Russian dressing, Swiss Cheese, fresh sauerkraut and dill pickle on light Rye sourdough.
Your welcome 😃
Due to some shift movements we have another weekend opening. Perfect for a uni student etc. but you will need cafe experience and be able to ‘hit the ground running’.
Just pop in to apply 🙂
Our in-house design student whipped us up some fresh menu’s!
Full disclosure, we did take the opportunity to review some pricing.. you shouldn’t notice it too much.
My favourite part of the morning 🙂
