A woman up the street stopped me when I was opening up the shop this morning and asked me about the milk bottle lids - I told her we are happy to take them if they are clean - she told me they been through the dishwasher, colour sorted and she got quite a few she would drop off.
And look at what she dropped off :)

You do need to rinse/clean the lids but you do not need to colour sort - great if you do though ;)

On Monday I packed my car with all the bread tags you have dropped off - 220-250kg of bread tags makes enough money to buy a wheelchair - pretty sure we got enough for at least one in this lot - the courier will for free bring the tags down to Jenny from Aussie Bread tags for wheelchairs - she lives in Adelaide - link to products made from the breadtags: https://mygreenstuff.com.au/collections/transmutation

Cold here in QLD which means this is our bestsellers at the moment as everyone wants hot food at work and school :)
The most popular of all the insulated food thermos we stock are the Bentgo and the Oasis food pods.
Remember to heat them up by putting boiling water in for 5-10 min before you put the hot food in - will keep the food warm for longer :)

Unpacked more Ben Elke oil cloth table cloths (2.5m x 1.2m) this morning and this is what we got left by now of the new stock!

I just ordered more of the reusable Danish dish cloths from Solwang - they are all up online for pre-order - they will be here on 2-3 weeks.
You will find a few new colours too ;)

We got new stock of the Replay products in this week - straw and zipper cups back in stock.
This amazing range is made from recycled milk bottles!

Thank you to everyone who used their Coles credit points for the kitchen aid products and dropped them off at the shop for - think you still got one until 23/7 to use your points.
This week we started collecting CLEAN plastic lids - see slide for what lids - for .brisbane Design who makes little pots for now (we got some of them for sale in the shop) and they are working on some big projects to make from recycled plastic.
Its Plastic Free July so time (as it is all year round by the way ;)) to look at all the ways you can replace the use of single use plastic - try and use things you can use again and again like reusable coffee cups, washable make-up pads, soap bars in cardboard, shampoo bars etc - we stock it all and happy to talk you through the options.
I moved a few things around in the shop today - come and check out the options for using stainless steel containers for you lunch boxes.
We also this week got stocked up on the Replay products - straw and sipper cups back in stock - Replay products are made from recycled milk bottles!
We have reduced a couple of Frank Green products - Frank Green 1L with the grip lid and the ‘normal’ 2L bottle are reduced to clear by 20% - both online and at the shop.
We got more Frank Green stuff coming next week so need some room for it - all the new stuff is up online for pre-ordering.

When your plastic pegs break it’s time to buy stainless steel pegs - and remember if they will be exposed to saltwater you need marine grade pegs - grade 316 or else they will rust.

We now collect milk bottle lids again!
Make sure you rinse/clean your lids before you drop them off (and if you have lots and can colour sort it them it would be amazing :))
I just had a visit from Jemma and Magnus from .brisbane who got big plans to make things from recycled plastic lids - they left a few small pots I am going to sell here in the shop

Back to school today here in Brisbane :)

It’s homemade meat balls top right corner / I often make a big batch and pop them in the freezer for his lunch

Friday night and the last weekend for the school holidays here in Brisbane.
Which means the shop is likely to be busy tomorrow morning when customers realise they need new lunch boxes, drink bottles and lunch bags - either for school or work.
There will also be a few people dropping kitchen stuff off as after I posted in a couple of local fb groups 2 days ago about the credit points from Coles we already got heaps of KitchenAid products to give to Friends With Dignity if you got enough credit points and are not going to use them please get the products and drop them off at the shop and they will go in the homes being set up for families fleeing domestic violence.
The mini loaf pan from Daily Bake make the right size to fit into most lunch box compartments - time to fill the freezer!
I still think the 780ml Oasis bottles are some of the best bottles we stock - and only $24.95 each!
