I almost want to delete the previous post because I don’t think these ring lights make anyone look better. Maybe washed out? For makeup I’d rather see it for how the skin is. You get to see the makeup for what it is. However I do heavily use my lights because I need light and sometimes there’s no outdoor or natural lighting opportunity.

Hey guys, I’m here to remind you as a makeup artist skin texture is real. We have pores guys. Which makes us BEAUTIFUL AND UNIQUE. When I ask clients for photo refs what they show me are so filtered (i can even notice the fake eyeliner and lashes that have been shopped on). Like come on. Its actually MUAs doing this to their own photos. Yes I change my contrast and my highlights and shadows on photos because of lighting issues but I don’t ever want to show fake work.. I wish we all embraced that more because it’s our job to meet real life clients and manage expectations. I’m ranting because I just see so many well known makeup artists doing this and it drives me crazy. Sorry not sorry.
