Insurance can be confusing and it’s hard to know what you really need or want. 🤔
As we grow older, get married, build families, and start businesses, we come to realize more and more that life insurance is a fundamental part of having a sound financial plan.
Over the years, you’ll find comfort in knowing money will be available to protect your loved ones in the event of your passing. Here are a few other reasons why having life insurance is important.
✅ To protect your family and loved ones.
✅ To leave an inheritance.
✅ To pay-off debt and other expenses.
✅ To add more financial security.
✅ To bring peace of mind.
Without a doubt, having life insurance coverage will bring you and your family peace of mind. It’s one thing you can be sure of and you’ll no longer have to question whether they’ll be taken care of when you can't.
If you want me to help you take the right steps towards the right journey to financial security, send me a message or comment below and I will get back to you.
What is the difference between pension and superannuation? 🤔
For starters, both sound like retirement funds, but they have a big difference. Both Super funds and Pension funds are part of the superannuation system.
In simple terms, a super fund is what you make contributions to while you are saving for retirement, while a pension fund is a fund that pays you an income when you are retired. You are only allowed to make contributions to a super fund. Pension funds cannot receive additional funds once they are set up.

3 mistakes people make when creating wealth. Are you like this? 😬😬
❌Not understanding ‘good’ and ‘bad’ debt
Some people are afraid of debt of any kind, believing it will hamstring their efforts to get ahead financially. However debt, can be used to help investors fast track their wealth creation strategy.
❌Missing an opportunity to leverage extra payments and offsets
Some mortgage holders don’t realise the power they hold themselves when it comes to paying off their home loan sooner, boosting their financial position along the way.
❌Putting all your eggs in one basket
There are countless ways to invest your hard earned money: you can buy shares, invest in property directly or through a managed fund, set up a SMSF, or leverage your money as a developer.

4️⃣ Types of Insurance Everyone Needs
>> Life Insurance
The most significant benefits of life insurance include the ability to cover your funeral expenses and provide for those you leave behind. It is especially important if you have a family that is dependent on your salary to pay the bills.
>> Health Insurance
Statistically, you and your family are just one serious illness away from bankruptcy. Medical debt problems can strike anyone: The problem cuts across age groups and educational levels. Even people who would be considered financially responsible can be affected by medical debt.
>> Long-Term Disability Coverage
It is the type of insurance most of us think we will never need. Often, even those workers who have excellent health insurance, a nice nest egg, and a good life insurance policy don't prepare for the day when they might not be able to work for weeks, months or ever again. While health insurance pays for hospitalisation and medical bills, you're still left with those daily expenses that your paycheck generally covers.
>> Auto Insurance
If you drive without auto insurance and have an accident, fines will probably be the least of your financial burden. If you, a passenger, or the other driver is injured in the accident, auto insurance will cover the expenses and help guard you against any litigation that might result from the accident. Auto insurance also protects your vehicle against theft, vandalism or a natural disaster, such as a hurricane or other weather-related incidents.
Have an awesome Tuesday!
We are seeing more a lot more options coming up in our lives for a ‘buy now and pay later’ and it makes me weary that a lot of people don’t know enough of these before they sign up and make a commitment to them.
⚠️ Spreading the cost of a big purchase can be useful, but be aware of these dangers:
⚠️ You can easily spend a lot of money without realising, and when it comes time to pay the debt off, you’re going to have to find the money to make the repayments.
⚠️ You’re spending money you don’t have. Ask yourself if you have the money to make all the repayments... If the answer is NO, or I’m going to struggle... it’s another reason to show why you shouldn’t be using it.
⚠️ You’re buying ‘stuff’ just for the sake of it (it’s a want) not a need, if you’re having trouble sorting out your money stuff, you have to make your NEEDS a priority over your WANTS.
⚠️ Banks don’t look favourably at Buy Now Pay Later.
⚠️ Late payments fees and dishonour fees, that soon add up if you are unable to make your payments.
Would you like to get in control of your money? Let's talk!
Is your super enough? How much super will you need for your retirement? 🤔
How much super you need will depend on:
▪️ The lifestyle you want in retirement - According to the Association of Superannuation Funds of Australia (ASFA) a comfortable lifestyle for a couple costs about $60,000 a year and a modest lifestyle costs about $40,000 a year.
▪️ How long you're likely to live - People are generally living longer than previous generations. Retirees can expect to live well into their eighties and this means if you stop working at 65, you're likely to need retirement income for at least 20 years or more. Visit the My Longevity website to explore your life expectancy.
▪️ Your big costs in retirement - Are you planning any major spending after retiring? For example, you do you want to pay off your mortgage, renovate your home, or travel? The more money you spend early in retirement, the less you'll have to live on later.
Planning for your retirement is complex and it's important to get advice from people with specialist knowledge. Let's talk and see how you can maximise your retirement savings.
It's never too early to start thinking about your super. Take steps now to get the retirement lifestyle you want.

Only buy stocks in markets that you understand
By buying stocks of markets that you don't understand, it would come under the category of speculation. "Timing the market" and "focusing on stock price instead of the price of the business" most likely causes money loss. On the contrary, if you know why you bought the stocks, you would be able to look back and evaluate in hindsight, if the thought process and strategy you used are correct or wrong. That is why investors read books and stay updated.
"Don't let yesterday take up too much of today."
– Will Rogers
