For this month only we are super sizing the monthly Deep Peace class in celebration of International Yoga Day.
Join us NEXT FRIDAY 21st JUNE 6-8pm for a blend of all things yoga lifestyle. Commencing with breath work and yoga asanas (poses) suitable for everyone. As the body becomes grounded and relaxed we will flow into Mantra meditation and Kirtan, food for the soul which nurtures on every level. Then bringing in complete calm and relaxation with a full body yoga nidra (relaxation) and sound bath. We finish the evening with a warm drink, refreshments and time to connect with like minded people.
This is a donation based class and bookings are essential for everyone’s comfort. All welcome - bring a friend or family member along and share in the evening together. Ending your week in a calm and conscious manner that will wash away all the stresses and strains of life.

NEW CLASS TIME EVERYONE
Now 9:15 - 10:30am to give people a little more time with school drop off and to avoid some of the morning traffic congestion.
This Hatha yoga class is suitable for beginners to intermediate and combines grounding breath work, yoga asanas, stretch and strengthen, yoga nidra ( full body relaxation), Mantra meditation and a sweet treat to conclude. It will set you up beautifully for the day ahead bringing in fresh energy alongside calm and balance.

We are busting with excitement as June is one of our favourite months of the year as we celebrate International Yoga Day!
The celebration warm ups THIS Friday with our iconic Travelling Kirtan Night on route to Northlakes. You don't want to miss this, amazing atmosphere, high energy, a mix of moody and uplifting tunes to transport those yoga mantras straight to the heart plus we have a yummy authentic curry with those famous samosas from Swaad Foods Gourmet Vegetarian Takeaway that you all love for dinner. With the weekend upon us what is everyone plans?
Before I got into the yoga lifestyle I used to try and cram as much into my weekend as possible. Let's face it, with only 2 days off from the weekly grind to get all the households jobs done, fridge stocked, social and family commitments, maybe taxi services for kids etc.....it really doesn't leave much time for rest, reflection and relaxation.
Then Monday comes around and it's game on again, and we keep repeating the same cycle for weeks, months and years. No wonder we feel stressed, overwhelmed and dissatisfied with life!
That is why we have carefully crafted a fortnightly weekend meditation experience for you to plug into that is low time investment, allows you to still get on top of your to do list but ALSO create time for inner nourishment, rest and peace in your life.
Tell me more I hear you say.... join us TOMORROW for our Mantra Meditation Experience held in Bracken Ridge, starting at 5pm.
Why not make a little afternoon retreat for yourself and head out a bit early for a lovely walk and some nature bathing at Sandgate which is only 5 minutes from the hall and then settle in for this lovely experience which is a complete reset for mind body and heart.

Meet Sarah
Sarah reignited her yoga journey about 18 months ago, she started off coming to classes at Sandgate and then after a few months was loving it so much that she started going to Bunyaville on a Saturday morning aswell. Sarah says that she loves to start her week with yoga and then seal off the end of the week with a good dose of nature yoga.
Sarah loves classes because they fill her up on all levels. ‘It’s not just about physical exercise I love the breathwork, relaxation elements and the Kirtan. It’s really helped me to reconnect with myself.
Sarah was telling me how her husband has noticed the difference in her aswell. ‘I can feel how it has a positive effect on every aspect of my life.’
‘I hate missing either class and I can really feel the difference when I do.’

So the change of season seems to be really setting in with these lovely crisp mornings. Getting out of bed is getting harder but it’s always worth it. I love the rosie cheeks feel of morning walks at this time of year.
Also time to ward off germs, build a strong immune system and maintain wellness practices.
Come along to Hatha yoga this Friday 9-10:15am and join us for a class aimed at supporting and stimulating the immune system. Concluding with a warm cleansing drink that is great to add to your daily routines to keep you fit and healthy during cold & flu season and throughout the year.

Tuesday afternoon with these little yogis are the best 🫶 Such a beautiful group of children who are geuninely interested and participate so nicely. It's been so nice guiding them with their practice, some now for over a year and what huge improvement I see in them. Greater awareness and alignment in poses, dropping down to meditate with greater ease, leaning into strategies to navigate big emotions and kinder hearts.
Our classes are small and intimate, giving children a quality experience and the support they need to thrive and grow this life skill which will help them build resilience and so many other wonderful qualities.
Feeling blessed to walk this journey with them ♥️🙏🏼

Meet Sue
Sue started coming to Hatha Yoga at Upper Kedron in January of this year with her friend Karen. She is such a ray of sunshine☀️at class. So I asked Sue why do you come to yoga, why do you love it?
‘I’m preparing for the future’, was her answer. I loved hearing Sue’s story about how determined she is to keep her body active and fit now and into the future. Alongside Hatha yoga and coming to Deep Peace on a Thursday with her husband Steve, Sue also does a big walk each week, goes to the gym, dancing and tai chi. She was telling me how she wants to keep her body as flexible as possible so that as it ages it continues to serve her well. Also how helpful it is when they go on holidays as she is able to go on hikes and see things that she otherwise wouldn’t be able to.
It’s such a privilege to meet and spend time with all the amazing people that come to classes. Thanks Sue for sharing 🌼

Deep Peace Meditation & Sound Bath Be transported to a place of pure relaxation of body, mind and heart.
Continuing on with our well-being chats about morning rotuine.
At our Saturday morning Nature Yoga Class a few weeks back I took the opportunity to use this time to bring some awareness to this area of exploration we are having online.
As a holistic focused class I am always seeking ways to encourage and expose people beyond the practice of yoga asanas which is the entry point into the yoga system.
We gathered in this cute circle seating area under the trees and big Autumn sky. Warming our bodies with the sun and hearts with a guided 10 minute meditation routine people might like to consider adding to their life.
Here was the prescription which I willl do a little video recording of for you too
👃 A few drops of essential oils in palms, then some nice deep inhalations and setting of the intention, anchoring into the now!
🌬5 Complete yoga breaths
🐝 5 Humming bee breaths
🧘5 Mantras breaths
📿 1 round of bead meditation saying the Aum Hari Aum mantra
🎵 Aum Hari Aum kirtan with guided track so people could understand they can chant anytime, anywhere!
💡 Meditating on Spiritual affirmation- aham brahmasmi
We had just finished a 1 hour yoga asana class so we were already really relaxed but this just took it to the next level as these practices work on that next level of the mind and heart. The energy shift could be experienced, the softness that washed over people faces witnessed and the smiles that echoed back to me was comforting.
I then guided some self reflection, posing a question and people took it in turns to share, that will be the next post I write up. Plus some awesome inspiration from some student shares about steps they have taken to start to add some of the discussion points into their life and some strategies we chatted about that you might like to explore too.
We then ended with our post yoga treats 😋 and everyone left with so much appreciation 🫶
I then hung back for a little bit, had my breakfast and soaked in the beautiful morning with a heart full of gratitude for the opportunity to pass on these amazing practices that my meditation teacher has given me and the sweet community that is more and more growing across all our classes.
Sealed it all off with my own personal practice on beads with the sun warming my back. It was heavenly 😍

The pics from our Travelling Kirtan at Lawnton are out and they capture beautifully the mantra magic we all shared in together. Such a great night! The atmosphere was filled with warmth, love and grateful hearts. Smiles of upliftment washed over us as our hearts were touched with the peace and connection as we journeyed through the evening embracing these powerful and transformative mantras within. ❤

We often use our backs in our day to day life to lift, carry, push and pull. They work hard and take strong loads.
When we stretch and strengthen the back in our yoga asana practice we reap many benefits. These are just few -
They support the lymphatic system, build heat in the body which stimulates the metabolic system.
They allow the chest to open, improving circulation and improved posture.
They stretch and strengthen areas such as the arms, wrists and shoulders. Backward bending asanas are great for energising and invigorate the body.
I feel really enlivened and full of flowing energy after practicing backward bends. I made the mistake of practicing a few in the later evening and boy did they wake me up 😂
My current favourite I think is Fish pose
