A shop favourite aka “SHAZZA” has come out of the gates red hot this morning with a big single “Afterlife” and exciting news of a brand new album penned from ground up with a band titled Sharon Van Etten & The Attachment Theory which will be released early in the new year on Feb 2nd. Two beaut variants have just been added to the Pre-Order section on our website 🚀🌕

From the off, Sharon Van Etten & The Attachment Theory is
sonically different from Van Etten’s previous work. Writing and
recording in total collaboration with her band for the first time,
Van Etten finds the freedom that comes by letting go. The result
of that liberation is an exhilarating new dimension of sound and
songwriting. The themes are timeless, classic Sharon – life and
living, love and being loved – but the sounds are new, wholly
realized and sharp as glass.
Reflecting on this new artistic frame of mind, Van Etten muses,
“Sometimes it’s exciting, sometimes it’s scary, sometimes you feel
stuck. It’s like every day feels a little different – just being at peace
with whatever you’re feeling and whoever you are and how you
relate to people in that moment. If I can just keep a sense of
openness while knowing that my feelings change every day, that
is all I can do right now. That and try to be the best person I can be
while letting other people be who they are and not taking it
personally and just being. I’m not there, but I’m trying to be there
every day.”

⚡️🐎⚡️ Super happy to share the good news this morning that we’ll be bringing the wonderful 🇺🇸 to Australia in early 2025! It’ll be the bands first trip out this way and one with many great dates taking the band to all the cities we know and love , some stunning regional spots and a string of the best festivals happening in March. This tour feels extra special as BLH’s debut s’titled album came out just before COVID struck in early 2020 and it’s one that definately kept my head up and me good company in that big year and the years to follow. I’m sure a few of you have a similar feeling. Let’s make it a special one all round ~ tickets are on sale now 🌞

Hello ! This week bring “stiletto” to us this Sunday for a special lunchtime instore to celebrate their debut release with a week later and the wonderful WA man on the 13th. Ordering/Pre-Ordering your copy of the albums they’re touring gets you a spot in the room and a good feeling for giving back to artists that are giving it up for us (thank you to all orders so far ~ much appreciated!). November will see the next run of shows with , & AND then before 2025 greets us we’ll have (Meanjin + Mapleton tix close to selling out!) and *just announced in December. We’ll be hosting the wonderful 🇮🇩 over summer for a couple of intimate shows to get along to inbetween Xmas & ny’s in Meanjin & across the border in beautiful Bangalow. It’ll mark a year since we had the guys out from Jakarta playing Seasonal Fruit & opening for Tops + Floodlights. Their recent Fuji Rock Festival set over in the Japanese mountains was a standout ~ I’m so thrilled to have these shows ahead to look forward to and to be working with this lovely crew again ! We hope you can get along and set yourselves up for a great end of year with some of your favourite music loving friends ~ tix are on sale now :)

Ali is a three-piece musical project originating from Jakarta Indonesia. Initiated by Arswandaru
and John Paul Patton, the desire of Ali is to incorporate Middle Eastern culture with elements
70’s Indonesian psychedelic funk, cinematic soul, afro beat, and disco to create a new groove
and sound to the contemporary and vibrant Indonesian music scene. With all lyrics written in
Arabic, Ali builds on the influence of Middle Eastern art and music, which over centuries has
assimilated itself deep into Indonesian culture and way of life. Also as the cultural heritage of
Arswandaru as an Indonesian – Arab mixed to implement the Arabic lyrics.
John Paul (Drums) and Arswandaru (Bass/Vocals) are joined by Absar Lebeh on guitar to
complete the trio. They are bringing their self described ‘Middle Easten Beats with South East
Twists’ to Indonesia and the world. Ali promises to deliver a diverse and unique experience to
the Indonesian music and festival scenes.

How very great to have the incredible in the calendar to play instore at JBC on November 2nd. I remember seeing Sarah for the first time ever many moons ago at The Rev for I’m pretty sure $8, when hard tickets were the only option and they came in different colours and with exciting fonts. I’ve got a drawer filled with them and a million good memories to go with them, having someone like SB stop by feels incredibly special.
