After just over a week away working with the NFL I am back to the grid. Bjj class number 1 done and a short run back home before a training session with a client in NYC.
After that it's back to for the 2nd class of the day

I have actually just finished writing his next 6 weeks of workouts.
This year saw a lot of changes to how I trained my clients but we still got after it as best we could.
Most of them bought the bands I recommend so that we could continue training from home.
Another throw back from this year. Kira had a hard year and was hit hard by the virus. She fought hard to bounce back and never shrank from a tough workout.

This Friday I was honored enough to receive my first strip to my belt.
For those that follow me you will know I started my Brazilian jiu-jitsu journey midway though this year and have loved the process of leaning the "gentle art" ever since.
My 1st school taught me some great fundamentals and I was able to use what I was taught there to come second place in my 1st tournament. Professors and .crocilla.jr are awesome instructors and I recommend them to anyone wanting to learn BJJ in Brooklyn/New York.
When I left NYC for San Diego I was lucky enough to find a great school and instructor and have really been pushing myself.
This tape is nothing in the grand scheme of things but for me it confirmation that I am heading in the right direction.
As with anything, consistency is key.

I have been suffering from a lot of low back pain for a few months now.
Going to a chiropractor and a sports therapist has helped me see where some of my imbalance are.

My man E has gone from struggling with body weight squats to squatting with a 70lb safety bar. This is a perfect example of programming progression into a clients training program.

Increased my working sets to 3x4 at 325 lbs.
Interestingly enough I dropped my calories by 500kcal last month and since then I haven't hit 1RM of 370lbs.

I spent the weekend with a client and her family.
I ended up making a mini obstacle course for the kids, which I loved.
It's great to see the young generation taking pleasure in fitness. I think we might have a few future participants in the making here.

This was 5 months of eating 2500 and then up to 3000 kcals a day whilst on my strength gain training program.
I added 16 lbs in total body weight. Of that 16 lbs 10 lbs of it was lean muscle mass (which means I added 6 lbs of body fat)
By adding that extra 10 lbs of muscle I increase my BMR which means I now burn 100 kcals a day more then I did 5 months ago. I am also a lot stronger.
Now I am cutting back to 2500 kcals to drop some of that excess body fat.
