Saturday, June 24 I am hosting a pop-up food recovery cafe 638 E 6th St between Avenue B and C from 11am-4pm or until sold out.

It is going to be a *surprise menu* because we are using mainly ingredients from Trader Joe’s that they are not able to sell due to things like damaged packaging or surplus items (aka foods that would otherwise be thrown away). But you can most likely expect to see creatively and lovingly made sandwiches, a baked good, and iced coffee and tea. It will be a sliding scale menu —pay what you wish, and all proceeds will go to youth and teen programs.

I am also going to have copies of my zine, “care cafes,” available for free.

It is the same day as the & East Village Zine Fair, so keep an eye out for all the other wonderful things happening around the neighborhood along St Marks and in all the gardens!
