October is "Breast Cancer Awareness Month"
Bunbury Family Doctors reception is looking "Pretty in Pink" to raise much needed awareness 💗

This October at Bunbury Family Doctors we are donning pink this month to highlight Breast Cancer Awareness month. 55 women are diagnosed with breast cancer every day. That's nearly 20,000 Australians this year. The National Breast Cancer Foundation's mission is more important than ever: Zero Deaths from breast cancer by 2030. Early detection can boost your chances of surviving breast cancer. Many women have no signs or symptoms. However, some women do and there are things you can look out for. Being 'breast aware' means becoming familiar with the normal look and feel of your breasts and reporting any unusual breast changes to your doctor as soon as possible. Flu vaccinations are in! Hospitalisations from influenza are on the rise, with children aged 6 months to 5 years being the most affected group. Parents are urged to make sure their children are vaccinated to protect them from the flu. Stay healthy this winter by continuing to practise good hygiene habits such as washing your hands often, covering your coughs and sneezes, staying home if you’re unwell, and keeping up to date with your vaccinations.

Unfortunately we are currently unable to administer flu vaccinations at Bunbury Family Doctors. We will update the page when we have flu vaccines available in the clinic. Apologies for the inconvenience.

Introducing Dr Lauren Gibson, one of our friendly doctors at Bunbury Family Doctors. Dr Lauren is a knowledgeable doctor with an interest in Obstetrics, Child Health, Palliative Care, Women's Health and Preventative Medicine. Dr Lauren is in the clinic Monday to Thursday and is accepting new patients. Keep your eye out for her and her fabulous pink scrubs next time you are in the clinic!

Today is 65 Roses Day, Friday 26 May 2023 and is our National Day of Awareness for Cystic Fibrosis.
You can support people living with Cystic Fibrosis this 65 Roses Day by purchasing a bouquet, selling roses in your community, or sending
a virtual rose.
We had one of our lovely patients come in today and gave a rose each to our Receptionists 💜
Not only very thoughtful but also a very worthy cause and chance to raise awareness 💜
