Today is World Su***de Prevention Day.
Itβs a day for us all to honour the memories of those we have lost to su***de, and to support those going through tough times and living with the grief of losing someone.
The message today is: 'We all have a role to play'. A role to play in staying connected, supporting those we care about and helping those struggling access the help they need.
Today - and every day β let the people around you know you are there for them by asking 'are you OK?'. A conversation can change a life.
Sometimes we just need someone who let's us feel all the feels π
No judgement, just genuine care.

You will feel supported as the group shares experiences, explores the ways grief can affect our lives, alleviates feelings of isolation and fosters resilience.
Discussions will draw upon the emotional benefits of peer support, in conjunction with evidence-backed information to help reduce the stigma that can be associated with grief, and build an understanding that each person experiences grief in a different way.
Sessions will run from 5pm - 6pm (AWST) on the following dates:

A team of nine rowers at B E N E F I T Strength & Conditioning, led by Stephanie have commenced their 24 hour row for MND.
Together, they want to row 230,754 meters in 24 hours.
They will be rotating through 20 minute sessions each, so need to row 3200 metres per session to reach their target.
The target was chosen in honour of Stephanie's dad, whose birthday was 23/07/1954 (230754). Stephanie's father lost his battle with MND in 2016.
Your strength is admirable and we are behind you all the way!
Thank you for the funds and awareness you are raising. π

With Fight MND β I just got recognised as one of their rising fans! π
The Beast is relentless, but so are we π
This Global MND Awareness Day, we're honouring those who are facing, have fought or cared for someone with MND. We're so grateful for how they share their stories and time with us at events like Big Freeze to help bring focus to the fight.
Today, two Australians will die from MND, and two more will be diagnosed. They're not just statistics; they're someone's mum, son, sister, friend. We keep moving for them, and awareness and funding for research are our best weapon.
Our fight is only over once we live in a world without the Beast. Learn more about the impact of your support: fightmnd.org.au/cure/our-research-impact/
