School holidays sorted! β›±πŸ‰β˜€οΈ

Do you know someone between the ages of 11 and 18yrs old, who is going to be bored in the school holidays? If so have a look at our free activities that we are offering throughout January, everything from art and music to mountain biking and surfing! All free, just get in touch and book a space. Spaces are limited and usually book up fast, so don't hang about too long. (Unfortunately transport is very limited this term due to a broken bus, but we're doing our best).

Tie Dye and Donuts in the Park recap 🧑πŸ₯³πŸŒˆπŸ©

Last Saturday, headspace Devonport staff and the headspace Devonport and Burnie Youth Reference Group membrs gathered at Ottos Grottos Park in Ulverstone to mark Mental Health Week 2023 by enjoying the vibrant art of tie-dye!

Engaging conversations, creative tie-dye sessions, and a shared sense of belonging were the highlights of the day, echoing the themes of awareness, belonging, and connection. Participants were treated to a BeaDoughs Donuts donut as a token of appreciation! We even had a special little visitor turn up 🐢

A heartfelt thank you to the Mental Health Council of Tasmania and the Tasmanian Government for their invaluable support in making this event possible! 🧑

If you came along to the event, feel free to tag us and The Mental Health Council of Tasmania in your pictures of your tie dye creations with the hashtag

Throwing it back to last week's headspace Day celebrations! πŸŽ‰

We kicked off the festivities with 'headspace Goes to the Movies' at Metro Cinemas Burnie, where we enjoyed a magical screening of Disney's Haunted Mansion, complete with popcorn and soft drinks. 🍿πŸŽ₯ The fun continued on Thursday with the Youth Mental Health Awareness Walk in Wynyard, where we strolled along the scenic foreshore, encouraging conversations and connections among all.

It was a fantastic opportunity for Headspace Burnie and Devonport staff, along with our amazing youth reference group, to engage with the community and share valuable insights on mental well-being. Here's to nurturing our headspace together!

A special thank you to Melissa and the team at Metro Cinemas for supporting our cinema event, to Steph and the team at Waratah Wynyard Council for allowing us to be part of this years Spring Loaded catelogue and of course, a big thank you to all community members and service providers that came along to the events. Happy headspace day! πŸ’š
