Recover like a champion after your remedial massage with these 5 tips 🤩

1️⃣ Drink plenty of water 💧
Everything works better when hydrated including recovery from massage… so get some water into you 💧

2️⃣ Get plenty of rest 💤
You’ve basically had a workout. Best you rest & get a good nights sleep (or the occasional nap) to get the most out of your massage 😊

3️⃣ Stretch regularly 🤸‍♀️
Stretching, one of those things you kinda need to know you need to do but usually forget… so this is your reminder to give some TLC to those body parts that need it with some stretching 🧘‍♀️

4️⃣ Avoid unnecessary stress ☮️
Take it easy after your remedial massage. Now that your muscles feel loose like jelly, why not let your mind have a break too

5️⃣ Eat healthy meals 🥗

💆🏻‍♀️ How does massage help with neck pain & headaches?

I’m glad you asked!

💆🏽‍♂️ The massage & movement techniques our therapists use help release tension in muscles.

💆 We also treat the fascia… what’s fascia? I describe it as a thin sheets of connective tissue that surrounds muscles and joints … plus pretty much everything else in the body i.e. organs, bones etc

💆🏻‍♀️ As we all know, our hectic lifestyles usually dial up the stress and tension.

💆🏽‍♂️ Massage stimulates endorphin release. This helps turn the volume down on stress and the tension that comes with it.

💆 That’s why we love using massage to get that relief from neck pain & headaches.

Founded in 2006, Hopscotch Fitness has helped hundreds of people change their lives.

In 2015, we opened our first boutique studio in Burwood which offers Personal Training, Semi Private Training and Stretch Group Training, as well as Myotherapyand Remedial Massage.

In 2020, we opened a second studio to offer more Stretch Group Training and Online Personal Training.

In 2022, we moved into one bigger space to service the needs of our community, focusing on tailored and personalised training through 1on1 PT and Semi-private service. We are big believers on taking a holistic approach, offering myotherapy and remedial services to our clients in house while partnering up with some of the best naturopaths, physios, osteopaths and podiatrist we know.

Drumroll, please! We are thrilled to introduce Callan, our newest Remedial Massage Therapist extraordinaire!

Callan is the newest addition to our HF family. He joins the Myotherapy & Massage team as a Remedial Therapist under Head Therapist, Louise.

We love his proactive approach – he personally came in with his resume to chat with us!

Callan's passion for learning and self-growth shows in his treatments. He also plans to study Myotherapy soon.

Despite having “hands of steel" for sports bodies, his warm and respectful demeanor ensures he is also able to do relaxing and healing treatments.

Meet Timothy, the newest addition to the Hopscotch Fitness family! 🎉

Since our humble beginnings, we've come a long way, expanding into a bigger space and growing our amazing team. From our co-owners hustling to a dynamic team of four, we're thrilled to have recruited top-notch talent in the training space.

Timothy joined us in November 2022 and has been making waves ever since. With a background in athletics and footy, he brings a wealth of knowledge in track and field. But that's not all – he's also passionate about strength and powerlifting, making him a well-rounded coach.

We caught up with Tim to learn more about him and his fitness journey. Stay tuned as he helps our Semi-private group and private 1on1 clients crush their goals! 💪

Here’s Wiki getting her client to do chin ups assisted by a resistance band.

💪 This is one way to get the exercise done when you’re not able to just get up there and do full body weight chin ups.

💪 As you get stronger you can reduce the size of the resistance band and work you way up to doing full body weight chin ups.

💪 The best thing about personal training is the freedom to find the right variation for you on the day taking into consideration all your needs.

Ladies, are you in your 30’s? Best you have your eye on what’s happening in your 40’s.

We start losing muscle mass in our 40’s, maybe even earlier.

Want to age like a fine wine? 🍷 Intensity and resistance/strength training is more important as start adding more candles to the birthday cake 🎂

Why lifting heavy s**t, as the saying goes, is good for you:

💪 retain muscle mass
💪 maintain bone density
💪 reduce risk of chronic disease (type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease etc)
💪 it’s good for your mental health, reduces depression symptoms and women & men
💪 generally do fun & cool s**t because you’re strong

It never too late to start strength training, and you should, because it’s really good for you!

P.S. “heavy” for each person is different, for one person it’s body weight, for another it could be over 100kg’s. Heavy means heavy for YOU.

How much do we love a kettlebell swing?! A LOT!

Kettlebell swings are a great full body exercise.

Kettlebell swing fun facts:

💪The kettlebell swing will help you create a stronger posterior chain which include your back, glutes and hamstrings - this helps undo a lot of what sitting is doing to your body by strengthening the black of the body

Time to clean up the garden, pull out some weeds, get mulch delivered, spread it around the garden… easy peasy…

Wheelbarrow ✅ shovel ✅ blood, sweat and tears ✅

You crush it, high 5 yourself and admire your work “I really should get out here more often, then it wouldn’t get so crazy!”

Monday morning rolls around, you attempt to get out of bed…

… but … ALAS! Your back it bluddy tight and sore!

You can barely get out of bed.

Bending and rotating seem to be out of the question.

Might go book a myotherapy appointment to get this sorted out (good idea I say!)

WHY the heck does this happen?!

If you’re only in the garden 1-2 times per year, you’re not conditioned for that kind of activity! It’s kinda like trying to run a marathon without training, you might finish, but you’ll be sore as hell afterwards.

Our advice, keep your body moving, get strong and get some stretching done!
