KEEP YOUR KIDS HEALTHLY
A consistent bedtime routine is important to your child's health. Children in kindergarten through grade six should get between nine and 11 hours of sleep. Lack of sleep increases cravings for junk food and often results in mood swings, temper tantrums and an increased risk of infection.

We are seeing increased cases of whooping cough (also called pertussis) in children in NSW.

Whooping cough is a serious respiratory illness. It is highly contagious and spreads easily between kids and families.

It can be life threatening for babies, especially newborns.

Whooping cough usually begins with cold and flu-like symptoms such as:
- cough
- runny nose
- sneezing
- fever.

To help stop the spread of whooping cough, please keep your kids home if they are sick.

If your child is unwell call healthdirect day or night on 1800 022 222 and get your child the care they need. If it’s life-threatening call Triple Zero (000) or go to an Emergency Department.
