Now you've had the Olympics entree - now for the Mains!
So why is the Paralympics called the Paralympics?? Before I listened to this podcast, I assumed that it meant 'paraplegic', or 'paralysed', but no! It means Parallel - a reference to the Paralympics being parallel to the Olympic Games! A smart ass friend said then why is it played AFTER the Olympics, but I'll deal with him later.
In the Podcast, find out how the Paralympics started, when it started, and who was the first Aussie to compete. Enjoy!
With 8 Days To Paris, Here’s Everything We Know About Our Paralympic Team It's not called the Paralympics because people are paralysed. This is just one of the weird assumptions getting around online when we looked into all things Pa

Fern Brady and Autism.
Fern says that she finally worked out that when someone would ask 'so, what are you doing tomorrow?', they didn't actually want her to list everything she plans to do chronologically!
On a more sombre note, Fern says "Masking autism is like trying to speak a foreign language for 16 hours a day, and never becoming fluent."
A really great listen which grew my understanding of Autism.

Hopefully other states and territories take note – bigger fines in place for drivers who decline passengers with an assistance dog in NSW.
'No you can't get in': Jaci has been left in tears by Sydney drivers refusing to take her guide dog Jaci Armstrong and her guide dog, Bess, often use rideshare apps and taxis to get around, but it's never simple. The NSW government hopes a massive increase to the fines for refusing service will end the discrimination.
