Fires Formation
To meet big challenges, you need big, original ideas like this Fires Formation video. This video communicates some of the changes across Australian Army over the next decade – from capability acquisition to workforce generation. In producing this, we applied the age-old technique of engaging storytelling coupled with cutting-edge, high-end animation to dispel misinformation, generate interest from Defence and defence industry, and better inform Army’s people on workforce changes. This is the result of some amazing collaboration with Ben Shepherd, Paul Wright, CSC and Sisto Berrnado and the excellent work from our team: Amanda Smith, Belle Thompson, David Lawson, Scott Deakin, Ian Reiser, and David Jordan. A special thanks also to the talented Benny Gray. Our approach was a first of its kind for the Australian Army and was so successful it was showcased at the 2022 Chief of Army Symposium. Effective Communications
What are effective communications? My answer to you is have a recipe per month, a formula that you keep rolling with. That might be an email every week out to your customers and clients. It might be three social media posts per week that roll out over the month, and it might be a blog update. The absolute big thing is test, test, test. If it’s not working, change it. If it is working, do more of it. Know your objectives. If you’re trying to increase your sales, or if you’re trying to increase customer service, be really specific about your personas – these are the humans you’re targeting. Know very specifically who you’re trying to hit. Test up your channels, try different content and just keep testing. This is the holy grail of marketing. The question I get asked the most is, absolutely, what do you actually do? At RD Consulting, we do communications.
