November is Diabetic Eye Disease Awareness Month. Diabetes is a chronic condition that affects millions of people worldwide, while many are familiar with the impact diabetes can have on the body not everyone is aware of the potential consequences for our eyes. Diabetic eye disease can damage the small blood vessels in the retina, leading to vision problems. Symptoms can include: blurred or distorted vision, floaters and spots, difficulty seeing at night, loss of colour vision and vision loss.If you or someone you know is experiencing these symptoms it’s important to see your local Optometrist.
