Last Thursday Canberra City Care & Life Unlimited Church got a chance to break the season over dinner with 75 community members. It was more than a meal! Memories were created and the spirit of community strengthened. Thank you to everyone who attended, our volunteers and organizers alike. You made it all come together, giving love, kindness, and generosity a chance to flow freely! God bless you immensely.
Community partnerships are so important to charity organisations. Our thanks go out to Paul and Margaret from the Ngunnawal Street Pantry, who shared a huge donation from a shop in Belconnen that has provided a wonderful boost to our humble ReRuns Op Shop. We have also been able to bless other partners and will be using some items at Christmas.
It is wonderful to see Government Departments and generous public servants getting behind local charities. Believe it or not we have our Christmas Hamper program underway and donations are already being collected. Thank you to those generous hearts and wonderful organizers.
Thankyou Suzi!!!!
Suzi has worked as Assistant Operations Manager at Canberra City Care for a year and worked as a Volunteer for many years before that. All her work has been excellent and she has brought joy to many people throughout the years. We are sad to see her leave CCC, but we are so excited to see her in this new and exciting season she is entering into, and to soon welcome a new member of staff!!
It has been so lovely to see some of our volunteer's creativity through our social art class. It runs on a Friday afternoon. There are always great conversations, lots of laughter and beautiful art pieces. Community and creativity what a great combination.

Thanks to some of our amazing volunteers giving up part of there Easter weekend, we were able to help people in our community through leaving some vegetables and bread for self serve outside our facility. We were encouraged after by this awesome story.
We wanted to say a big thank you to the volunteers who came in on Easter Monday and placed fruit, vegetables and loaves of bread outside the Charnwood care center.
Simon and I shared the food boxes with residents at the Ranken place Belconnen ACT Housing complex.
Jeff is intellectually disabled and has diabetes, as he lived on cheap home delivery foods like pizza and diet coke for a long time until he found a carer.
His health took a turn on the weekend because his carer was away, and he had run out of fresh food.
Simon and I used the multiple loaves of bread, vegetables/fruit to make up healthy sandwiches, a fruit salad and fruit bag, and 2 tins of tuna and vegetables to make pasta bake for 6 residents including Jeff!!!!
Thanks so much for your help.
-Simon and Belinda
