Last nights' late night shopping event was huge, Hundreds of locals turned up to Heeney Street Chinchilla where 39 prizes were won in the massive multi draw raffle worth about $2,300, The winners were announced in the $5,000 Christmas Lights Competition, the team at Rebel FM the Rock Station kept us entertained, Rotary Club of Chinchilla sold out of snags and many of our local retailers had a great evening of trade!

Last Saturday's Community Christmas Celebrations were off the charts! What a great turnout and happy faces all around!

The Botanic Parklands transformed into a magical wonderland of music, entertainment, excitement and fun. We indulged in delicious food, busted some sweet moves, and cheered on the talented performers. The market stalls were bursting with goodies, and Mayor Paul McVeigh was the ultimate host, nailing his emcee duties until it was time to light up the Lions Light Display.

Congratulations to Lisa Healy, who won the final draw of the 'Town Proud Buy Local; campaign and went home with the $5000 shopping spree at Betta Home Living Chinchilla.

🥳🧑‍🎓BEST Graduation Breakfast sends students off to their future after high school 🧑‍🎓🥳

Around 80 Chinchilla Christian College & Chinchilla State High School students who participated in the 'Bringing Employees & Students Together' (BEST) Program were treated to breakfast, a bubble tea and a well-filled goodie bag before we sent them off on their endeavours after high school.

Each year students from the Chinchilla Christian College & Chinchilla State High School and other schools from the region participate in the BEST program. The BEST program includes a variety of activities such as soft skill sessions, to practise job interview techniques, a career day to meet future employees or study pathways and the Ignite Your Future Tour where students visit the business and get a unique insight into the day-to-day running. All to prepare themselves for and explore the opportunities of life after school.

Yesterday we had a moment to celebrate how far they have come and what a bright and exciting future lies ahead of them....and one last opportunity to give them some final advice 😉

We couldn't offer a program to the schools without the support, time and dedication of our local business who shared their knowledge and opened their doors to the students. To show our gratitude, the businesses that attended the breakfast received a Certificate of Appreciation. Thank you!

🌭🏆Drakes BBQ Fundraiser- $2100 worth of grocery vouchers to the Bushfire Victims🏆🌭

Drakes Supermarkets proudly supports its community, and its latest BBQ and Bake Sale Fundraiser is a testament to that.

Last weekend's event was a great success, raising almost $2,100 for the bushfire victims. The money is used towards gift cards for impacted families to buy much-needed groceries. They also collected two whole trolleys crammed with toys and games to make sure each kid would find something under the Christmas tree.

This is not the first donation received from Drakes and they have very generously offered continued support where it’s needed to help these families get back on their feet! A massive effort!

Bev Stuart and the CCCI team worked with Drakes to help bring it all together and today we presented Louise Judge, Manager of the Chinchilla Community Centre and part of the Evac team with vouchers and gifts for those that need it the most.

Roger, Bridie and the rest of the Drakes team have gone above and beyond to help out the victims of the bushfires. It shows once again how important and valuable it is to have such caring and supportive businesses, and here in Chinchilla, we do it well!!
