🔴⚪ TWILIGHT CARNIVAL CANCELLED ⚪🔴

Unfortunately, we have to cancel the Caboolture Twilight Carnival scheduled for Saturday 19th October 2024.

An email has been via Results HQ today to all those who have nominated.

The cancellation is due to considerable damage to 2 lanes of our 400m track and to our 2 senior shot put areas, caused by Council contractors digging trenches to install a new irrigation controller cable to stations under Wolfenden Oval. There was a failure for Council to communicate internally and there was no communication with us prior to work commencing.

While Council believe the grass will grow back in time we can not guarantee this and are not be certain that the track will be safe to use in 2 weeks time. Therefore we would like to give families as much notice as possible, instead of hoping that the track will be safe and having to cancel the day before.

Our Committee are extremely frustrated that this work was scheduled in September and not during the off-season in addition to not being notified about it.

Whilst we do have an LAQ approved back-up date for our Carnival of Saturday 22nd February 2025, this is the same date as Deception Bay Carnival and we do not want to create a clash with another Little Athletics Centre.

We understand that news of our cancellation will be disappointing and we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused.

We will be processing refunds via Results HQ. Please note that RHQ do not refund the processing fee that was paid when nominating.

There are carnivals at Ipswich on the same day Saturday 19 October and at Redlands on Sunday 20 October if you wish to still attend a carnival that weekend.

A huge congratulations to our wonderful Allara on her successful selection for the New Zealand Development Tour! So, so proud of Allara's achievements this season!

We had 19 of our athletes compete in a Bundaberg on Saturdatly at a State Spring Carnival. They most definitely did their best and made us all so so proud!

Our ongoing partnership with White Cloud Foundation provides FREE mental health support for all athletes, staff, volunteers, and family members over 12 years of age in Queensland!

This service is available not just for those experiencing symptoms of depression and/or anxiety, but also for anyone who wants guidance on how to support someone who is struggling.

Mental health matters, and we're here to ensure everyone has access to the support they need. 💙
